Arc'teryx Naga Hoody

by Sean
Quite possibly one of my favorite articles of clothing. Perfect mid layer in the winter, great "hoody" for summer nights. The Naga moves seamlessly from the field environment (just tuck the hood under your uniform top) to some shitty hipster bar in park slope. It is the chameleon of Tactical Warmth. I have spent as many nights sleeping in a Naga over the passed few years as I have outdoors. It is one of those articles of clothing that is simply put - always with me. The gen 1 Naga hoody fit rather snug in the belly. I wear a small long uniform and wore a large Naga underneath it comfortably. The Gen 2 Naga Hoddy is a looser version and the Medium fits perfectly. I prefer a Gen 2 Medium Naga Hoody over just about any other cold weather gear, including the beloved issued waffle tops.

The Naga Hoody by Arc’teryx is a layer you can wear all day, and keep on under your armour or gear when duty calls. Engineered with Polartec® Power Stretch® throughout to maintain maximum warmth and breathability, the sleeves and hood are also equipped with uber tough Hardface® technology, to protect the areas most susceptible to wear without sacrificing your range of motion or reduced profile.

Arc’teryx’ Trim-fitting Drop Hood™ can be comfortably worn under a helmet, or down under your armour without bunching around the neck. Wear the Naga Hoody by itself or as a thermal layer and all you’ll notice is comfort.

Glad I caught this on a sale. Don't get me wrong it's a very well made piece but for the price I would have expected it to be more wind resistant. Paying made in North American made prices being made for slave wages probably. This is in by no means the fault of SKD but the manufacturer. Definitely need a thermal layer underneath. With that you're golden. Honestly this is just an RHO with a hood and thumb holes.

This is a go to hoody for me. Very lightweight but still warm. This is a slim fit but not uncomfortably tight. I would highly recommend  this to anyone who is on the fence.

The dead bird Naga is an awesome hoodie. I had no idea that it would be as warm as it is. It is also more form fitting than I thought but thats cool because the wife thinks its sexy.

This is an excellent piece of gear, though far more spendy than my usually base/mid layer.  After many hours of trying to decide, I went with the Large size so I could use it as a mid layer, I figured it would still be close-ish fitting without a lot of excess material. The crocodile color is closer to an OD than a coyote, but it blends very well with multicam.  The only thing this needs is more pockets, aside from that it is extremely comfortable and kept me warm (with just a t-shirt under it) in 40 degree weather while just casually walking the dog.
