These are the only knee pads I will ever wear. I hate built in knee pads because they never sit just right and always make me feel sweaty. I wore the alta knee pads for years and loved them, but then I tried the knee caps and found near perfection. They don't make you sweat like other knee pads and are so minimal you hardly notice them. Only issue is that I have to adjust the straps when I wear them on my ankles.

Best knee pad on the market  Lightweight, comfortable & flexible. 1" straps don't constrict at the knees; "caps" are semi-articulated for unrestricted freedom of motion. Although lighter/thinner than Alta, they provide a better trade-off between comfort and protection. Don't waste money on any other brand--these are worth the extra bucks.

really light knee pad that does not bunch up on the pants or slide down the leg.  If you are buying this to match the OCP, the crocodile is a closer match than the coyote tan

Just tried them on and see that this design is so much better than the issue knee pads that slide down your legs, or cut off the circulation when riding in a vehicle.  Someone really thought of the guys on the ground when they developed them.

I've only worn these for a little while but I definitely notice a huge improvement over other types I've used. The amount of padding & rigid protection is perfect, not too bulky or heavy while maintaining comfort over very rugged terrain. The quick disconnect buckles are secure but disconnect easily when needed. The straps provide just enough tension to remain secure and still be comfortable enough for extended wear.
