1. Design: The vest is basically your standard issue IOTV, except a bit shorter. Compared to MAR-CIRAS it is much easier to put on with full combat load because the velcro closure is in the front rather than on the sides.
2. Quality: My RBAV was made by SDS before the were bought by BAE. The quality is outstanding. I'm sure that if anything BAE only improved it. Because of smart design all of the heavy wear points are reinforced. No complaints in that department.
3. Comfort: Just like MAR-CIRAS, RBAV has an internal elastic cummerbund. If your job has you running and climbing, you'll appreciate it. Unlike CIRAS', the external cummerbund is not elastic. While it doesn't sag with plates, it is harder to breathe if you run.
4. Conclusion: Excellent Army vest. Comfortable and durable. Night and day compared to standard issue vests, but not a significant leap over MAR-CIRAS.
