Fantastically quick service, delivered right on schedule during the holidays. I do wish the sheath was a bit more high speed, but the hook is exactly what I was looking for, and I have no problem making a retention method to better suit my needs.

Everyone should have one o these tools on their kit. It barely takes up any space and the complete package has a super slim profile.

A good tool November 21, 2013

A friend turned me on to these a few years back.  I purchased a Rescue 5 in the past, but found that the then supplied plastic sheath doesn't hold the hook.  I wanted something larger and that I could put on my battle belt, and found the Rescue 7.  I chose Benchmade again because of the quality of the product.  I also chose this type of cutter so that if I need to remove kit or clothing from a casualty, these cutters are easier and faster than EMT shears or a regular knife.

Easier to carry than trauma shears, it's faster than shears as well. I carry mine even when I'm not at work.

Trust the Butterfly December 2, 2012

I work around a lot of shop tools and heavy equipment where someone could easily find themselves snagged or caught. I got the rescue 7 to carry on me just in case.  Luckily, I haven't needed to use it yet, but having owned other Benchmade tools, I know it'll be crazy sharp and ready if I do need it.

The design is dead simple and completely idiot proof. It's essentially a universal zipper-tab for any kind of strap or fabric. I found the sheath very versatile and easy to open in a pinch. No matter what I'm wearing, I always have a few options for carrying that will keep it close at hand.

I already plan on buying another one to mount in the car for emergencies.
