Well, in all fairness it happened on the square range at Blackwater, but that doesn't make it any less important. The boss learned the hard way that your plate carrier is supposed to protect you, not cause additional injury. That was when we Blue Force Gear came up with the concept for the Plate Pillow™. Designed to protect the wearer against additional injuries incurred during airborne operations, vehicle ops, or ballistic impact (due to explosion or bullet strike), the Plate Pillow™ is an additional layer of protection created to bring you home unscathed.
Key Features:
-Plate Pillow™: The Plate Pillow™ is a large comfortably padded area on the top portion of the LMAC™, designed to provide you with extra layer of protection for your chin, neck, and jaw area. Printed in either MultiCam® or Coyote Brown. Made out of synthetic micro-suede with closed cell foam backing (Patent Pending).
-Carrier is designed to fit SAPI/ESAPI plates with soft armor backers. Side plate pouches fit 6X6 plates with soft armor backers.
-Multiple attachment and routing loops for commo cables and/or hydration tubes.
-Front and rear flap are quickly removable to further cut weight or rapidly change configuration.
-Low-profile shoulder straps.
-Printed Loop Velcro® field on front and back of carrier for ID and/or IFF patches.
-Addition or removal of side plate pouches takes seconds.
-Flash/flame resistant back panels are designed to wick away moisture for all day comfort.
-Lightweight, low-profile elastic side straps minimize weight and allow maximum mobility
