If you're trying to get this to hold onto a strap on a pack, the little plastic clip lacks the clamping power to be useful in any meaningful fashion.

I have always thought about something similar to this, but never knew it existed. Alas, I found the Camel Clip. It works very well and solves an age old problem. No more 550 cord around PALS/MOLLE webbing, no more jamming the nozzle between my armor and vest. Plain and simple. Also, if you mount it high enough on your kit, you can drink out of it while not even having to detach it. Great product.

I don't know why this isn't standard on Camelbaks, but it is worth it. Positions the tube exactly where you want it.

Get your drinking tube under control February 10, 2012

You have to pull back the insulation on your drinking tube to get the clip to holder to wrap around and attach.  The clip portion itself is also plastic, so we'll see how it holds up.  I should have bought one of these a long time ago--I always just tucked my drinking tube into a strap!
