Nice pack! June 19, 2011
Reviewer: PB from South
MOTHERLODE is a great , full featured pack! The coyote is true, the fabric is tough , and there's plenty of PALS webbing to customize this pack to you. Good value for the money. Nice organized pockets and admin area. Solid 2-3 day pack for heavy packed missions

The classic backpack, modernized! June 18, 2011
Reviewer: Juan C. Alvarenga from Pasadena, CA United States
If you think of the classic style 3 day assault pack, in which you have one large compartment, then a couple of smaller compartments, you can then consider this a 3 day assault pack. But the Camelbak Motherlode 500 is more than that, with modern fabrics, materials and a much more comfortable suspension system.
The 500D Cordura makes the pack lighter and less stiff than other packs. Also the MOLLE placement is very generous and will allow you to attach pouches at your heart's content. And the internal organization of the pack in the front area, the mesh pocket in the main compartment, a dedicated fleeced lined top-pouch and the included 100oz hydration bladder makes this pack a much better 3 day assault pack than many other backpacks in the market.
Plus the very comfy suspension system, well padded back and shoulders will make carrying heavy loads a much easier task through out your day.
If you want this pack, don't hesitate to get your own!

Was looking for a multi-use bag ie ghb, bob, hungting rig and it fits the bill nicely. Quality is excellent with a lots of usefull compartments. I have the pals webbing loaded down with no issues. My gerber lmf fits perfectly on the side webbing.

Great pack, smaller than I thought June 24, 2010
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Germany
I bought this pack as my EDC.  My first impression was that it was smaller than I thought.  This turned out to be a good thing for me.  I've been on 2 stateside flights and an international flight and the bag fits perfectly under the seat and the overhead bin.  The fabric seems tough enough and the PALS webbing looks like it will hold up well (an issue with a previous pack).  The waistbelt doesn't really work out well for me because at 5' 8" it doesn't sit on my hips well.  I do love the orginization and orginization.

Great pack! January 29, 2010
Reviewer: Aaron Gough from Toronto, ON Canada
i bought this pack in Multicam about 6 months ago for use as a bug-out bag and a general camping pack.

Once you get used to it's fit it is extremely comfortable, even with heavy loads over a long period of time. Mine is loaded up with a week's worth of food, cooking gear, ammo, large first-aid kit, utility knife,  hatchet, sleeping roll and small expedition tent and it's still very easy to travel with it on.

I'm a fan of the built-in hydration bladder though I rarely fill it to capacity as water is fairly common here and it adds too much extra weight when full.

I haven't abused this pack as much as I would like yet, but from what I have seen I seriously doubt that it's likely to fall apart without *serious* abuse.

I highly recommend it if you can stomach the price, well worth it.
