This one is for the wife. Price is a bit high and it's on the heavier side, but the design is excellent and the strap height adjustment makes it very comfortable.

I checked a lot of reviews on this pack before purchasing it, it was all very favorable, and I would agree with those reviews.  The price was pretty good on SKD (i.e. not the lowest, but far from the most expensive also), and you know if you're able to order it, they have it in stock.  Backorders are a major pet peeve of mine.  So, I'm happy with the purchase overall.

Toughest, most comfortable daypack. January 3, 2011

If there is a pack out there that you want, that can handle heavy loads, has organization space, accessibility, and plenty of room for large items, this is the pack you NEED. The combination of Mystery Ranch's frame system, their quality and care, with the hydration reservoir improvements of Camelbak's makes this an incredible pack for the price. I've carried this pack for distances of over 15 miles in cold winter, through elevation gains of over 4,000 feet, and I can tell you, is the only pack I feel it could survive longer than my self.
Don't hesitate to get it. It would serve you better than 99.99% of the packs out there. Trust me, I even returned some of Camelbak's other packs, because they weren't as good as this one.

Great pack upgrade September 20, 2010

Got this pack as an upgrade to the MotherLode that I've been using for the past few years.  Biggest merit to this pack is the tri-zip feature, as it really gives you the access to pack right.  Using the internal compression straps, I got a three-day loadout in an organized manner, meaning that if i needed something from the bottom, I didn't have to yank everything out to get to it.  

Also dig the "comms" pouch. I used the pack to carry a laptop on a recent trip. The bottom of the pouch is padded, and the back is covered by the Mystery Ranch Futura Harness.

Would give it a 5, but that would imply that it is perfect, and we all know that is never possible.  Really, I don't like the thinner paracord zip pulls on this pack.  I prefer an heavier cord, with cord ends.  This can be easily fixed.

Overall, a good pack, and an excellent upgrade that didn't break the bank.
