Daniel Defense Omega Rail 9.0

The Patent Pending Daniel Defense Omega Rail™ system is the most exciting rail system to hit the market in years! The Omega Rail™ is a free float rail system that allows the individual operator install it with the Allen Key provided and requires ZERO modification to the weapon! The Omega Rail™ features an integral QD sling swivel mount, with rotation limiter, and an uninterrupted upper rail platform. This light weight rail system is meticulously CNC machined from Aircraft Grade Aluminum and is Military Specification Type III Hard Coat Anodized. All the Omega Rail fasteners are military specification.

The Omega Rail 9.0™ is designed to work with mid length AR15 gas systems.

All Daniel Defense Rail Systems are built to the 1913 Military Specification and are 100% Quality Assurance checked for conformity to the specification.

The Omega Rail™ comes standard with three black ladders to proctect the 1913 rails as well as the shooters hand. The Ladders are contructed from santoprene, which can handle heat up to 350 degrees.

Rock-solid rail. Installation is a little slow, but you only have to install it once. I've torqued down on it with a vertical grip - no change. It's a true free-floating tube, with no need to change barrel nuts.
P.S. Tip for those who want to get rid of the handguard retainer cap without removing the FSB: You can cut it off with tin snips.

Overall, this is an excellent product. The quality of the rail is self evident from the way it is packaged to the way it smoothly screws together. My issues are very nit-picky. First, the locking/anti rotation screws are hard to turn quickly. You can only do about a quarter turn at a time, but not the end of the world. The other is that it is not automatically level, and while it will take you less than 5 minutes to install, it will take you 20-30 minutes to fine tune and make sure it it true and level, otherwise mounting precision optics is a waste of time. You wont notice these slight deviation at less than a 100 yards, but you will over that.

When I recieved it, I couldnt believe it. This thing is almost lighter than the stock plastic handguards that came on my rifle when I bought it. Comfortable in the hands and easy to install.

This kit DOES work with the Adams Arms piston kit.

Installation takes less than five minutes, and locks up solid.  The integrated QD cups are nice, with limited rotation.  The fact that it's not much heavier than standard handguards seals the deal.

This may be the best rail on the market. It is lightweight, easy to install, and feels great in the hand. i have been through several carbine classes and years of hunting in the field and it has never loosened. I plan on putting these on all my uppers in the future.
