Daniel Defense Rail-Mount Fixed Front Sight

The lightweight, streamlined design makes it unobtrusive and snag-free. The one piece design makes it easy to install on any MIL-STD-1913 rail and it secures with a slotted fastener threaded into a self-locking stainless steel thread insert. Special attention was paid to facilitate the use of compact weapon-lights forward of the sight, such as the X300, TLR-1, etc. The concave radius on either side of the sight is a great place to rest your thumb for easy, ambidextrous activation of the light.

Machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and military specification hard anodized, our Rail-Mount Fixed Front Sight is both lightweight and durable and is the perfect complement to our A1.5 Fixed Rear Sight.

The fit and finish of this sight is top notch.  It mounts up very solid.  I have it mounted behind a Surefire X300, and it fits in right behind the light, and allows for a thumb rest in order to accuate the light switch.

I've used the sight on an LE duty gun for 12 months or so now and find it to be a nice, lightweight but solid piece of equipment.

I agree with the previous review that it seems as if it was designed to sit next to an X300/TLR-1 tac light.  I've also shot hundreds of rounds through the gun with the sight on and it's held up fine.

I mounted this sight on my M6A2 rifle right behind a Surefire X300.  It's a perfect combo for a flat top rifle.  In fact, the front edge of the sight was designed to fit in pocket on the back of the X300.

The DD sight mounted up solidly and hasn't loosened up in over 500 rounds so far.  It's very light and low profile, with no thumb wheels or bolts sticking out.  Because of it's small footprint on the rail, it leaves tons of room for lights, lasers, grenade sights, etc.

It's a great sight, and I highly recommend it.
