The cover is too long for a standard 7 or 8 round mag and too short for a 10 round mag. Might work with a 7 or 8 round mag with a drop pad.

Good piece of kit! July 4, 2010

I used it in a month long swat school and had no issues.  I do prefer the the belt model better then the molle and added velcro to it myself, since the velcro models have been hard to find.  It holds the mags secure and I would not hesitate to recommend it to any one.

Holds mag tight enough to stay put during most maneuvers. Velcro works well as additional security during air or seaborne use. I find it easier to get a grip on Sig P220 mags then 1911's but YMMV.

Another super-sturdy product from Eagle.  Even without the velcro cover, you will never have to worry about losing your mag, even at a full sprint.  This pouch keeps it help snug, and offers a good amount of protection.  I find the velcro cover to be ever slightly too long, causing some slac, but this is a minor issue, particularly when that mag won't come out unless yanked.
