Product did exactly what was expected, fit perfectly and adds frame support. There's even a metal vertical stiffener that can be removed if you want. Practically no extra weight and increased performance from the pack. Win-win

tips on inserting into pack February 8, 2010

I can't add much to what has been said already.   Like everyone else here, this should have been included with the pack and I don't know how anyone can use a pack w/o this.  

Just a little advice for inserting.....the best way to insert this is to 'fold-it-up' slightly like a taco then insert.   All you gotta do is fold it just slightly so that you can get it in, once it's in just open it and flatten it out completely.   Also, keep the spine part facing the front of the pack, not against your back.   HTH

Heavy, oddly shaped objects are much easier to carry in the AIII with the pack frame.  

It's a bit pricey for what it is, and it makes it hard to fit a hydration pouch, but it works great.
