Eagle MAR-CIRAS Maritime Armor Carrier

The Eagle Industries Combat Integrated Releasable Armor System (CIRAS™) is now the armor carrier of choice for USSOCOM (BALCS-R). The CIRAS is designed to allow the end user to rapidly jettison the armor platform. This aids in ease of use during WMD Decontamination, access to a wounded officer, as well as Maritime Operations.The CIRAS vest incorporates a single release cable (Pat. Pend.) that makes the assembly process easier than it's predecessors.

There are two versions of the Eagle CIRAS vest, the Maritime (CMS-MAR-CIRAS™) and the Land version (CMS-MC-CIRAS™). The Maritime version's cummerbund attaches under flaps that are on the sides. The Land version's cummerbund attaches under a single central flap. The CIRAS accepts SPEAR BALCS cut soft armor inserts, as well as a 10" x 12" SAPI or simililar rifle plate.

  • Heavy-duty, abrasion and water resistant 1000 denier Dupont Cordura™ nylon exterior construction.
  • 1" Mil. Spec. webbing cross straps for mounting MOLLE pouches.
  • Detachable shoulder pads.
  • Internal and external cummerbunds for tight, secure fit.

This vest is awesome. I was issued this on active duty and it was indestructible.  The most durable piece of gear I've ever used.  I needed a vest for work now, so I ordered one from SKD.  I ordered it saturday night, and monday was the holiday.  The package shipped on tuesday and arrived two days later.  I couldn't remember what size I was issued before so I ordered the large.  I'm 6' tall, 190 lbs with a 32 inch waste and I swim in this thing.  With the internal cummerbund on the middle attachment loop and the external cummerbund on the tightest setting, it fits exactly right.  There is nothing negative I can say about SKD service and speed or the vest, and at a couple hundred bucks below msrp including shipping, I can't complain there either.

I'm new to skd, put on by a friend, and after this experience I will definitely be back in the future.  Best supplier out there for tactical gear that I've come across with extremely competitive prices and untouchable customer service.

Eagle Quality & SKD Service Can't Be Beat! July 5, 2011

Upgraded from a basic plate carrier to the Maritime CIRAS because I wanted SPEAR inserts. Quality is top notch, with Eagle you definitely get what you pay for. I was considering cheaper alternative but when SKD got Multicam back in stock I couldn't pass it up. Stitching is top of the line, no imperfections. Soft armor fits perfectly. Assembly after releasing is not nearly as hard as I've heard from some people. I can have the vest together in about a minute, I've marked my sizing holes with Sharpie so that helps.

SKD service is second to none as well. The total came to $520.00, shipped, for the CIRAS in Multicam. I placed my order on Friday and the vest was waiting at my door on Tuesday, with Monday being a holiday. This is my second order from SKD and I don't plan on buying gear from another site, thank you!

Awesome service, reasonable price, AND got it for me before deployment without backorders...
As for the vest: EAGLE QUALITY IS TOPS. This vest is rugged, but with mesh for cooling. It was well designed, and holds soft armor and rifle plates comfortably. The side closure on the Maritime version is preferred if you ever have to be prone. Coyote color is true. The assembly is easy, and the release works. I highly recommend adding this to your list of must haves. You get what you pay for. Thanks SKD
