Eagle LE armor carrier lives up to expectations September 21, 2010

This is a great piece of kit, top quality construction which is to be expected from Eagle. I bought this in ranger green size medium, and it fits me quite well, though I am at the end of the spectrum for adjustablity. I am 5'9" 165lbs with a 42" chest and 31" waist. I could have gone with a small, but I am running large ESAPIs in the carrier and they wont fit in a small. I use the carrier for matches, and it is my SHTF setup. It is more than adequate for my needs, and I am sure it would hold up to a more demanding end user. I currently am running the HSGI taco mag pouches and highly recommend those as well, especially for people with multiple weapon platforms. I can run the same pouches for my XCR, SA58, or even my Saiga 12.

Great functional design December 24, 2009

Sizing is based on standard BALCS soft panel sizes. It also, obviously, accepts hard armor plates. The plate pockets allow the ride height of the plate to be adjusted.

I like that the inner cummerbund can be removed. I've found that this makes the vest much cooler as it is one less strap hugging the wearer. Airflow is improved dramatically.

The side flap style allows all the pouches to be mounted to the front panel as opposed to mounting them to an external CB like on the LAND version. When heavily loaded pouches are mounted to an external CB, donning is slower. When donning the vest in a hurry, the CB tends to flop all over the place due to the weight of the loadout. Of course, once it's on, it's stable, but, the side flap style doesn't flop like that, so we've found that donning is quicker. That may or may not be applicable for all users, but for LEO work it's relevant.

I've used this carrier during some very strenuous training evolutions and have been 100% pleased.

Good option for soft armor and plates November 19, 2009

I have been generally pleased with the carrier.  I have used it on two successive  FALCON operations pratically living in it for a week at a time.  Its well made, very flexible and has a large range of adjustment.  Overall, a very good piece of kit and more affordable than the QR versions.

I needed the LE model with velcro pads for ID panels, but this does limit your ability to mount pouches high on the chest or back.

My only real criticism is that its not generally offered in MC.

This is a great harness.  Military grade.  Eagle is the best for a good reason.  I would recommend this rig to anyone.
