This outer cummerbund modification is for the MC-CIRAS Land Version. It replaces the existing outer cummerbund and allows you to place 6"X6" or 6"X8" side plates into the plate pockets.

Best-engineered Side SAPI Solution for CIRAS July 30, 2011

Designed for the CIRAS-Land, I was able to retrofit my CIRAS Maritime by using one of the third-party add-on cummerbund flaps that are becoming common. I use USGI Side SAPIs (with the soft backers), which do protrude slightly above, but the anchor straps are long enough to hold them securely. Can't see how 6x6 would not fit. Cordura over ABS, which provides some structure without adding too much bulk. Looks good, feels as good as heavy armor can feel.

this is much better option than attaching plate pockets to the outside of the cummerbund were they flop around. holds both my 6x6 and 8x7 plates perfect. and no, 6x6 plates do not stick out of the top. 8x7's yes but that is fine too because the pocket holds them very secure. it would be perfect if eagle would do the same cummerbund system thats on the the paraclete sohpc, and have that type of set up come stock on the ciras. overall great product. also d/c the multicam color was truly a stupid move on eagles part.

This cummerbund does the job, but my 6X6 plates don't fit all of the way into the built in pouch, and the small velcro flap that secures the plate has to stretch over the top of the plate. The top of the plate sticks out over the cummerbund.
