The Pop Flare Pouch (PFC/D-1-MS) carries 1 pop flare and opens at the bottom for faster and easier extraction. It is double stitched throughout and constructed of heavy duty Cordura® nylon for durability.

Both myself and my team chief carried star clusters in these pouches. I mounted mine upside down on near the back of my kit and never noticed it was there; it never got in the way of my sling or when climbing walls.

Having a star cluster was comforting (especially since for some reason mortar teams always screw up illumination missions).

The only time I had to use a star cluster was for hasty Illum, but it was easy and convenient to access the flare from the pouch.

The pouch showed no signs of wear from constant abuse (being dragged on walls and the ground).
