A more traditional approach to carrying additional pistol magazines; the FirstSpear™ Pistol Magazine Pockets are available in single, double and triple configurations and fit many single and double stack magazines, including 7 and 8 round 1911 style, double column 9 MM magazines of 15 – 17 rounds for the Glock 17/19 and double column 9 MM magazines of 15 rounds for the Sig 226 or M9 Beretta.

First mag pouch April 30, 2013

This is my first mag pouch in this configuration. Holds my G22 mags well but they do come out easy. I will try them with the flaps over the mags and the flaps tucked into the pouch behind the mags and see how they do. I wear medium gloves and have streamlined fingers, If you have large fingers getting a grip on the mags might be a issue. I might try some Magpul ranger plates. Other than that it works good and matches my ATS tripple mag pouch in  MultiCam.

Great velcro top pouch January 10, 2013

I much prefer open top mag pouches for pistol mags but I bought this for a flashlight and multitool pouch. Plenty of room and velcro attachment so you can run it pretty tight or very lose. Only complaint is the old style attachment style (alice?) All new gear comes with molle backing and short or long malice clips. Maybe this way is cheaper because I see no advantage to the old attachment style.

Pleasantly surprised. I had no experience with First Spear (or ever heard of them) but decided to take a chance with these pistol mag pouches. My M9 and Glock 17 mags fit like they should and everything seems to be well constructed, but time and use will tell.

Good...but not Eagle January 11, 2012

I purchased this mag pocket because SKD didn't have any more Eagle doubles and I've been wanting to check out FirstSpear anyway.  I'd read that the guys behind FirstSpear were "...anyone who had a clue...from Eagle."

If I didn't already own a bunch of Eagle gear I probably wouldn't have a problem with this pouch; I'm sure it will do its job but when I put it alongside the Eagle pouches I already have the materials and workmanship are just not as good.  That's too bad as I was hoping FirstSpear would be my new go-to since the Eagle buyout and the decision to offshore allot of their production.  The search for an Eagle replacement continues...
