HSGI "TACO" Modular Single Rifle Magazine Pouch

This unique pouch, compared to similar mag pouches in it's class, will hold more types of magazines than just the AR series of mags. Not only will it hold AR type mags including P-MAGS, it will also hold magazines for the AK, FAL, M14, SR25, M1A1 20 rnds, G3 and more... even some types of radios. It will also hold large flash bangs and M-18 smoke grenades.

This mag pouch measures 3" in width compared to the top selling mag pouch which is wider and disrupts much needed space on the user's modular platform. Made of Cordura, Kydex and shock-cord, it is silent when stuck against and while extracting the mag. The "TACO" maintains a positive grip on the mag which is adjustable and does not need any other use of a securing system unless desired by user preference. Webbing tabs are sewn in on the top for use of "over the top" bungee retainers if desired (not included). Additional loop velcro is sewn in the inside if the user wishes to use adhesive backed hook velcro on his magazine body for added security. Testers have reported no issues other than it is a little hard to mount to a platform, but this was very little concern to them compared to the overwhelming positives this unique mag pouch provides. Made in the USA and covered by HSGI's Lifetime Warranty .

These mag pouchesare simply incredible, if your thinking about open top retention mag pouches then think no more. Sure you could buy other brands but none are as versitile, the price may be staggering but considering the fact they will harness any mag i can stuff in them you actualy save money and time when fitting gear to seperate load-outs. Even if you are leary of open top mag pouches the TACO pouches are so simple to fit with bungie cord retention loops for added peace of mind when in rough handling such as rappelling or para-jumping if the need arises.

Excellent product - worth the price and hassle May 3, 2013

Yes, putting them on is a PAIN in the ass. You need to really work the malice clips to get them flexible first. Then follow the youtube video. Take your time, work the pliers, watch out for the shock cords, and be patient.  If you're not sure where you want to mount them, do NOT weave the malice through the middle molle on the taco. Just run the malice straight down through the molle on your belt/carrier.  They will stay on ok like that and you can test it to make sure you want them there, then re-thread them properly later.

Also, HSGI's smoke green color is a very, very close match to the Mayflower APC Ranger green, which was nice.

Giving it a go April 22, 2013

Seems like these magazine pouches are popular in the local training groups because they allow a single rig for multiple magazine types. I really like the ITW fastmag for it's low profile and quick draw, so I figured I'd give these a shot for a chest rig, and to play with a battle belt. First - mounting these puppies is a real PITA, and there's no included instructions for routing the malice clips through and around the bungies - thank you YouTube. Inserting magazines is a bit more difficult than the Fastmag, and corners of the plastic at the pouch sides needs to be filed a bit - great place to bust knuckles. I was however impressed that they do accommodate both a 5.56 and 7.62 Pmags easily. I have a feeling these are going to be useful on a belt setup where I periodically use rifle mags, and then I'll stick with separate chest rigs for 5.56 and 7.62 mags - but we'll see.

Love the tacos, it fits all of the PMAG/AK/FAL mags I have. The only cons is the price and the bungee retention kit should be included.
