HSGI UDHP Holster SKD Version (Velcro-Only Drop Leg Strap)

***This exclusive SKD version is finally answering the call from professional users who want their UDHP, but want it to ride as high as possible, allowing for a faster draw. The standard UDHP has a QD buckle which limits the adjustability when trying to mount the pistol close to the belt. Our version removes the QD option and replaces it with a straight velcro drop leg strap allowing you to mount it as high as possible, and still allows you to drop it 6"+. SKD is the only place to order these- we had to order large quantities to make this possible.***

The HSGI Universal Drop Holster Platform is a replacement suspension system for the Safariland 6004 and G-Code SOC rig. Based on the excellent HSGI Diamond mesh backing, the UDHP allows the 6004/SOC Rig user to have a secure suspension system that utilizes only one strap, allows for higher placement, rides closer to the body, and has a modular PALS interface. Also, the UDHP incorporates a Quick Release drop leg strap with two belt mounts.

Installation of your holster is easy- simply remove the holster body from it`s current backing, and reinstall on the UDHP with the existing bolt hardware. All you need to do is make a few holes.

This is NOT a complete holster- you must install a holster body such as the Safariland 6004 or ALS to utilize this system.

great but only one complaint January 9, 2015
Reviewer: EI from Folsom, CA United States
I'll try to explain this so it makes sense... There's basically one thick piece of nylon that is folded over with hook and loop to attatch this holster (shell) to your preferred belt. The nylon wants to open up due to a lack of hook and loop where I folded it (actually I wear it where it was prefolded). That's not a deal breaker by any means, because it's up to the user in determining their preferred drop so the Velcro may not be in the optimal spot. The point of my long winded rant, is the nylon opening up at the fold allows the holster to move freely up and down which I feel should be prevented. I believe this can be solved by simply adding a small additional Velcro strap to tighten UNDER where the holster attatches to the belt (or something along those lines). I'll figure out a way to rig it and I'm sure it'll be awesome. I only make this rant because SKD is great and if what I say has any merit, I know they will run with it.

Drop leg pistol panel January 1, 2015

This thing is gonna work great I can tell. Not my first piece of gear from hsgi and I am yet to be disappointed. Have not had time to mount a holster in there yet but don't think there will be any probs. The included pistol mag pouches were a real sweet addition! I have tried it on without the holster in it yet and it fits secure/nicely. Great deal as far as Im concerned.

Perfect September 28, 2014

I have an HSGI original UDHP which is very good, but the SKD version is perfect.  It allows a much higher ride on the leg, as the useless quick detach strap on the original version is absent.  I use the UDHP with a 6004 (and QLS), allowing me to change which handgun I use with the UDHP holster.  For me, the UDHP/6004/QLS is a winner.

The holster comes with 2 Molle buckle-closure HSGI pistol pouches.  My only complaint is that I would have preferred TACO magazine pouches.

Great Improvement January 17, 2014

I purchased the complete Safariland drop leg holster set up.  I liked the draw but thought the whole set up was cumbersome.  This holster holder is much more comfortable, has less creep up and down the leg and holds the pistol tighter to the leg.  The draw is a little faster, but should improve with practice.  It is large enough to work with almost any frame size pistol.

Take your time mounting your holster to get it right.  I used an old soldering iron to make the bolt holes as I didn't want any fraying from a hole punch.  Make the template just as the instructions say and don't guess.

I'd buy three but only need one.

HSGI UDHP January 18, 2013
Reviewer: seb5 from AR. United States
This is my second one.  I use one for my work on a local SWAT team and bought this one in tan for an upcoming (shortly) deployment.  They are simple to install over the holster and much more comfortable than the dual strapped Safarilands I'm used to.  The mag pouches are a nice touch but I used them for a multi tool and flashlight as I don't prefer fastex keeping my mags in.
