HSGI ESAPI Side Plate Carrier Adapter

The E-SSPCA (E-SAPI Side Plate Carrier Adapter)- addresses some issues with the HSGI 'Satch series and provides the means of carrying side plates adaptable to plate carriers.

Features and functions:
Adds ability to support 8" x 9" side armor plates with the additional soft armor inserts.
Additional MOLLE/PALS webbing to the original platform on sides.
Addresses the issue of flexibility for the user as the cummerbund has adjustable shock-cord expansion to allow the user to breathe during vigorous activities.
Addresses the looseness of the Satch series as mags are extracted. Being an adjustable cummerbund, the shock-cord allows the rig to tighten up as mags are extracted (if adjusted correctly).
More MOLLE/PALS webbing to the rear panel.
Works well with some other gearmakers' plate carriers. (Some carrier designs may offset the adapter off by only 1.5") Contact HSGI for details.
Better access to secure the rig as the side release buckles are up near front.
Adjustable for when using flak or just as a plate carrier.
Made in the USA and carries HSGI Lifetime warranty.

Like all HSGI gear its top notch quality fabric and construction. But if you were looking for super easy, ready to go out of the box stuff then the low cost of this item should have tipped you off. You have to work with it, just like any soldier kit, with a sharp knife, a lighter, 550 cord, 100mph tape and some spare time it will run with the best of them.

ok let me start of by saying i really like the weesatch, and hsgi as a company. that said i am not impressed with the design of this Side Plate Carrier Adapter. Its construction is top notch but just not well thought out.

you start by attaching clips to the front of the rig which further colapse the side pockets of the rig. from there you overlap the tails of the side plates and weave an elastic shoelace through the molle and secure it with cord locks. WTF? from there you disconnect the front of one of the side plate carriers, wad it up, and slide on the rear adapter. This covers of the elastic cluster F. the rear adapter covers the back 2/3rds and is attached with 4 molle locks (included). This adds unnecessary weight, bulk, and heat to the back of the otherwise super nice rig. It just doesn't make sense not to make a full replacement rear, and i am not sure how the cord locks will feel with a ruck on. with all that said i will likely keep it because i need the space.

A great addition to the weesatch. Snugs it up good to your body for less movement while running. Adds more room for addition of whatever pouches you may want to add without overloading the front of your carrier. And of course the ability to add soft/hard armor on sides.

This adapter is built tough like all HSGI kit. Once I got it set up on the Wasatch it worked great. It gave me more "real estate" for aid pouches, etc. Also the adapter made the rig more snug and less prone to flop when I have to move fast. The only drawback is when you are taking it off the weight of the side plates and pouches on the cummberbund sag down and seem to strain the elastic cords inside the back panel.

This is built well. It is just not easy to use. When using this with the chest rig you will need an extra set of hands to put this on.
