Magpul MBUS Back Up Front Sight

The MBUS (Magpul Back-Up Sight) is a low-cost, color injection molded, folding back-up sight. The MBUS Front Sight is adjustable for elevation and fits all mil-spec 1913 Picatinny rail equipped weapons, but is specifically tailored to the AR15/M16/M4 platform.

These are nice, light weight back up sights. I really liked the flip feature. I did upgrade to the Troy though. These cannot be used on a gas block so I had to swap them.

Less expensive alternative June 10, 2011

This folding front sight might cost less but the quality is top notch. If your like me and end up using your main optic more than your back up sights, then get this little gem. It just plain works! Nice little tip, use a casing from a .223 as your front sight adjusting tool!

Currently using the Magpul MBUS Back Up Front Sight on my MP 15-22:

LIKE:

1. Perfect for iron sight or co-witness.  
2. Like the polymer concept, as metal tends to get scratched, not matter how careful you are.
3. Spring-loaded goodness. Sights pop up when you need it, locks down when you don't.

DISLIKE:
1. Hard to adjust. Used a needle nose pliers to turn the post up/down.

Overall, a sturdy, tight-functioning BUIS that has a pricetag that can't be beat.

Just purchased my second set January 30, 2010

for those of you who run optics on your gun, you know that the chance that you will need iron sights is slim, however you want one's that won't fail you.  I recently purchased my second set of these, and plan on buying more as my gun collection grows.  To me there are no minuses when it comes to these sights.  I only wish there were more stars.
*They won't snag on your clothes
*they're super light weight and for someone who patrols with a rifle all day, any weight savings are a plus
*they cost very little.
*adjustments are a breeze.

Magpul Quality, Just Bulky January 30, 2010

Overall great unit but a tad bit bulky, probably the most bulky BUIS there is. However the quality is just like every other Magpul product, clean edges, strong spring, locks up tight with no movement, and the finish is great. Other than being bulky, the only other issue is that the elevation adjustment is locked in by a push pin that can be easily lost, but Magpul does provide two pins in the package. Overall there is no other sight that is a better value in this price range
