Magpul MIAD Grip Kit

MIAD - MIssion ADaptable AR15/M16 Grip Kit

The patent-pending MIAD (MIssion ADaptable) Grip is a drop-in replacement for the standard AR15/M16/M4 pistol grip, designed to improve weapon ergonomics. Interchangeable front and rear straps, as well as a range of storage core options allow the end user to adjust the grip for hand size as well as dynamic mission requirements. All mounting hardware is included.

  • Removable and replaceable front and rear panels for a custom fit over multiple hand sizes
  • Improved ergonomics and positive anti-slip texture on both sides and rear back-strap
  • Removable inner core that allows for storage (3-round plug included)
  • Custom storage of batteries (waterproof) or spare bolt/firing pin is available with optional cores
  • Kit includes three size back-straps (S,M,L), two front-straps (A1 and A2 style), 3-round core plug, and installation hardware
NOTE: For proper operation with 7.62 NATO AR10/SR25 style of rifles, the MIAD Grip Wedge is recommended. Integral trigger guard is no longer available.

Grip on Ruger 556 January 12, 2013

On the Ruger, the inside of the grip had to be filed a bit to slip into place properly.  Also, the hole inside the grip had to be filed allowing the bolt to enter at the correct angle thus preventing cross threading.  After those two small issues were changed the grip fits perfectly.

Very happy with the grip, it was easily installed, looks great and is very comfortable.  I used the large backstrap and the front strap with the finger notch.  very cool design in that you can change the front and back.  I like the fuller grip I get compared to standard A2 grips plus the storage in the grip is nice for a small bottle of CLP and some patches or something.  Great combined with the STR stock because you can carry a complete cleaning kit on your rifle without using rubber bands and looking tacky.  Not to mention snagging and losing bits and pieces.

I have big mits so the option of installing a "Large" back strap is nice and far more comfortable. Looks great on the gun. Installation is as easy as it gets and the storage compartment is great for spare batteries and/or dummy rounds etc.
