Magpul RSA Rail Sling Attachment


The Magpul RSA provides a forward sling attachment point for the Magpul MS2 or MS3 and other clip-in systems.

Made from precision cast black manganese phosphatized steel, the RSA attaches to any MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny/STANAG 4694 rail. The RSA has been proven to withstand stress tests of over 300 pounds yet weighs a mere 1.26 ounces.

Too specific for my needs July 2, 2011

I picked this up on the Osama's dead sale, and found that it isn't very user friendly (maybe unless you run the magpul sling).  It keeps my 2 point sling in an odd location in either the 6 or 9 o'clock position.  I would have rather gotten a QD attachment.

The RSA isn't bad for what it does; attach the front of the Magpul MS2 when using it as a two point sling. It can be attached on pretty much any rail surface in any direction and is extremely sturdy. However, I didn't quite like it for non-MS2 slings as the loop is quite big and allows for some movement.

Great, simple piece of kit June 14, 2011

Great item.  Very solid construction with a tough anodized finish.  Allows me to convert my single point sling into a two point sling quickly and without having to use an annoying QD swivel.  Secures with a flathead screw so no worrying about having the right allen key or star bit to remove and install.  I use it on a patrol rifle and have confidence that it will hold up to the rigors I put it through.

I have used the Magpul RSA in conjunction with the MS2 and now with a modded VCAS AA Padded sling.

The RSA is low profile and is less likely to snag on things.  It is very sturdy and simple like the previous reviewer said, and is better than having a sling swivel flopping around while you're trying to attach the sling.

Also, with the sling attached, I haven't found it to be "noisy" as the sling is taught enough to not allow it.  Its not an issue in my opinion.
