Magpul Rail Light Mount

The Rail Light Mount fits on any standard 1913 Picatinny Rail, is available in right or left side models, and integrates with the Magpul XTM panels. It positions the weapon light high and cantilevered forward, at the 11 o'clock or 1 o'clock position, to allow a more forward support hand position, keep the light tucked in close to the bore, and to minimize barrel shadow. A textured thumb ramp is integrated to provide the user an index point, aiding consistent hand placement and light activation.

Constructed of reinforced polymer, the Rail Light Mount nearly eliminates light compatibility concerns by conveniently including everything you need to mount Surefire 300 and 600 series Scout Lights, 1913 Picatinny attachment pistol lights, and all light bodies from 0.75" to 1.03" in diameter via the included set of anodized aluminum mounting rings.

Models are available to position the light high at 11 o'clock (LEFT side model) or one o'clock (RIGHT side model).

A good affordable option for thumb activation. January 10, 2017
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Van Nuys, CA
Purchased this mount to run a Surefire G2X on the bottom rail of a Kel-Tec KSG with a vertical grip.  The idea was to place the light where I could activate it with my thumb and not break my grip.  What I ran into was a clearance problem where the mount was contacting the front of the KSG's handguard and preventing it from being securely mounted.  What is nice about this mount with the cost and material is that you can modify it to fit in a way you could not with an expensive, aluminum QD mount.
Eventually I got rid of the vertical grip and brought the same mount up to the top rail where I could still activate it with my thumb.  This is where I ultimately kept it and was very satisfied with the result.  Flows seamlessly with Magpul rail covers and holds on solidly even with 12ga recoil. Lightweight and practical, this is a good option for those who are experimenting or on a budget who want to benefit from Magpul's quality and versatility.

Great product for the price January 10, 2017

It's hard to beat this light mount for the price. It's lightweight, solid, and pushes the light forward while still providing the user some adjustablility for fine tuning the placement of the light. The mount also includes a Surefire Scout light mount beneath the rings if they are removed. The only negative would be that it doesn't sink back towards the rail as much as some of the higher priced mounts. With that said, the Magpul mount should work on a wider variety of rail systems than lower profile mounts.

I've used this on duty for a year now and have had no desire to upgrade. It has been able to stand up to pretty hard use with no signs of failing.

I'm rating this product 5 stars for the capability and reliability that it provides for the low price.

Quick and easy to mount. Places the light in a position where it's easy to toggle with the thumb. Fits a very wide variety of lights from different manufacturers. Not too expensive. What’s not to like?

Good bang for the buck January 2, 2014

I got this as an experiment to fit a surefire G2X/G2ZX on my work rifle. The polymer is really heavy duty and there are metal inserts for the screws to thread into, i have no doubt this will holu up to a lot of abuse.

The only negative is that it is not as low profile as i would have liked. I will get the thorntail mount for my personal gun since it "hugs" the barrel more. But considering the price of the magpul its a tough deal to beat
