Designed primarily to be attached to and worn on the chest area of a tactical vest or body armor, Maxpedition's new MONKEY COMBAT™ ADMIN POUCH solves many of the problems plaguing admin pouches currently on the market while optimizing carry capacity in a compact and organized package. This innovative accessory also makes for a dandy organizer when attached to any of Maxpedition's bags or packs.

It administrates!
I used with with 2 malice clips to hook it onto my light chest rig, and despite its size, it fit quite nicely. I didn't really expect it to be as large as it was. The fact that it's flatter than most admin pouches helps out a good bit. It is quite useful at storing pens, markers, snacks, chemlights, and maps, which is pretty much what I use it for. There's area for just about everything, and there really isn't a whole bunch of useless velcro and compartments. The pullout map pocket is EXCEPTIONALLY helpful, especially when it's raining.
The pouch is build tough, like a Maxpedition should be, and I havn't had anything break yet (though I haven't truly put it through it's paces... yet).
My only complaint about this thing, so far, is that I would have preferred a smaller 'secure' container, because with small things it's about as difficult to find them as it is to lose them in the center velcro'd section in the pouch.

Great utility pouch, not so much an admin pouch June 24, 2011

As other reviewers have stated, this is a wonderful pouch. It holds a large number of items, big and small, and plenty of them.

The only word of warning is that this is a large and thick pouch when empty just due to all the material used in construction. Because of this, I found it somewhat cumbersome when using it as a traditional admin pouch on a vest or LBE. At times, I found this "little" guy blocking my line of sight to other pouches underneath or catch my sling at the most inopportune moments. The Eagle admin pouch or ATS wide-load admin pouch, both of which are much more low-profile were more suitable for me.

Personally, I use this pouch as a mini "bug out bag", which is not attached to a single bag, vest, or what have you. Instead, it's a stand-alone bag that can easily be transferred between whatever larger bag I am toting around, or just on it's own. For this purpose, it works beautifully, and I cannot say enough good things about this guy.

Unbelievably good organizer. June 15, 2011

I've had my Monkey Combat Admin since last Christmas. It fits the cargo pocket of my pants. It fits in the smaller outside pocket of my SoTech Mission Pack. It fits in pretty much all of my bags and packs. I can put my wallet in there, several pens, some first aid goodies, a folding knife or two, and my trauma shears fit nicely tucked into the MOLLE webbing on the back, or through the 'sheath' on the front. A microfiber cloth sits in the tiny little inner sleeve, in case my glasses or shades need a quick wipe. This pouch is my best friend. Well, okay I don't talk to it or give it a name, but you get the idea. ;-)

I have two of these pouches, and they are absolutely great. Solid construction and lots of room and organization. I use them both for survival kits - couldn't ask for a better option.
