Mountain Hardwear Hunker 4 Season Military Tent, Coyote Brown, SKD Exclusive

Shelter is the number one priority for survival in inclement environments- then water, then food. If you have ever wanted a single person shelter system that will perform in all 4 seasons for your survival kit, this is the limited opportunity you do not want to miss.

This product was developed for Naval Special Warfare sniper/observer teams, and has never been available previously to the public in its original military Coyote color. Like most premium outdoor brands, Mountain Hardwear has on occasion produced specialty products for the Special Operations community in limited quantities that are not offered to the public. Also like most premium outdoor brands, the vast majority of Mountain Hardwear products are made overseas in large factories to leverage a wide range of commercial materials and achieve economies in manufacturing. Due to the fact that our military Special Operations units require Made-in-USA products to comply with the Berry Amendment (if you don't know what this is, Google it), often these special not-for-public items become even more exclusive by the fact that they are actually MADE HERE.

Hunker Tent November 22, 2016
Reviewer: Chris P
The Hunker Tent from Mountain Hardwear came just as described. The only thing I can complain about which isn't much is the stuff sack it's in is bigger than necessary. Not a big issue at all. Like a few others I missed a sale by a week. Other than that SKD is easy to deal with and on time..

5 stars June 8, 2016
Reviewer: Flattop from Northeast
I'm giving this tent 5 stars; but can't comment on the tents long term durability yet, as I haven't had it that long yet.
The tent shipped super fast from SKD, and I did test set it up in the house as soon as I received it. It did have an odor as some reviews have stated, but it was gone the next day.
The tent was easy to put up without directions, and the material is very sturdy. I've tested it 3 weekends in a row, with one fairly heavy rainy night and stayed dry all night, with little to no condensation with proper venting.
I'm 6 foot plus and 235 lbs and I fit fine in this tent. You cannot sit fully upright in this tent, but there is adequate room for changing; Its very low profile, and knew this going in, as I mostly only sleep in the tent anyway.
I like the extra door for entering the tent, without crawling out under the porch.
Also plenty of room for gear or small child in tent in a pinch

Pricey tent, but do you get what you pay for? October 26, 2015
Reviewer: Mishawn D from Gautier, MS United States
I recently bought two hunker 1 tents from skdtac and as always received them pretty fast next day shipping.  Upon arrival I opened one up and set it up in the living room, it has a pretty interesting smell once it's all setup and you climb in to test it out, I'm guessing it's the material.  Inside the tent you have a small mesh pocket that can fit a wallet, two pistol mags, a folding knife and a flashlight.  The secondary "window" doesn't have a mesh mosquito cover so I wouldn't open that when you're in a fly/mosquito infested area.  The material is nice and thick and has the rip stop pattern sewing throughout, and the frame sleeves are reinforced.  The poles and stakes that it comes with are DAC aluminum and they are a breeze to setup, I find that setting up this tent for the first time with no instructions was easy and fast.  I also have a snugpak scorpion 2 that I would compare to this tent and for the money I would go for the snugpak, the hunker 1 doesn't come with repair kit.
