Battery life is less than impressive, and the body of the light is a little bit boxy, but this is a pretty sweet combat headlamp otherwise.

Awesome Headlamp March 18, 2012

I have had one of these for almost 2 years, using it in garrison, during mission planning, in the jungle, during ruck runs, and pretty much any other low light situation you can think of. I love how it has the extra compartment to store a different color lens so you can switch between different colors. Definitely the best headlamp i have ever used, and will probably be the only one I ever own, or if i manage to lose this one, I will definitely be buying another.

if you're going to carry just one light into the woods, this needs to be the one.  it's plastic but well-constructed.  it's incredibly bright with 3 energizer lithium batteries and very lightweight.  i have several surefire flashlights and like them all, but to use them you gotta give up one hand.  a headlamp makes camping, climbing, working with your hands, and just about every other outdoor activity so much easier.

I have been thru dozens of helmet light and this by far is the best, and with multi lenses ishas allaround use and easy on batteries, Try it you will not be disapointed....

A must have tool for all January 25, 2010

Many people think headlamps are a waste and have no room in combat.  Totally wrong and this TIKKA is the one for the job.  Wheather you are treating casualties or fixing a down weapon this is a must have.  The TIKKA's settings and purity of light makes seeing easy with hands free use.  As a medical operator this is a life saving tool.  Remember if you have casualties the enemy knows where you are and you treat them under cover so whats the deal.  Get one
