The motivation behind the Flat IFAK was to replace that larger issued IFAK every soldier gets, the giant football-shaped piece of gear making you lean to one side in a helo or a vehicle. If you are tired of having a clumsy football-shaped attachment on your side at all times or if you are tired of having to lean to one-side when riding in a vehicle or aircraft, then you are ready for the next generation in IFAK design. Minimal space and weight, maximum comfort and utility. The cutting edge of tactical design.

The Flat IFAK allows ambidextrous (left or right handed) deployment of the Individual First Aid Kit. It is pulled out of the carrier via the handles on either side. Once deployed the kit may then be temporarily closed using the cinch string and hung around the neck or stuffed quickly into a cargo pocket, allowing weapons usage or to free up the users hands for extraction/movement of the patient. The Flat IFAK is approximately the same thickness as the VIPER Plate Carrier, allowing it to be mounted to the BLOCS Padded Armored Belt below the plate carrier. The user then has a flat back profile when sitting in a vehicle or a helicopter. It is MOLLE compatible with is outfitted with our patented Flex-Tab attachment system.

Moving the IFAK position from the warrior's front or side position to the soldier's back gives the soldier wearing this new IFAK three important advantages:

  1. Utilizes the dead space below the plate carrier on the soldier's back
  2. Removes ambiguity of the soldier's life-saving equipment. Is it located on the left or right side of his body?
  3. The soldier can now carry much more needed gear like extra mags, frags, and mission items where the soldier needs them the most, up front or on his sides.

This IFAK is also ultra thin and lightweight so it can be easily thrown into a patrol bag or a pack for the law enforcement officer and the avid camper. The Flat IFAK + BQETC Tourniquet Carrier accommodates the entire contents of the full SOF-IFAK. Quickly stowed or hung around the neck when treatment is interrupted by the need for quick evacuation or position being compromised while treating the wounded.

Soft material allows the operator to ball it up quickly and stuff it in a cargo pocket or use the elastic strap to cinch closed and quickly hang around the operator's neck to wrap up quickly and move with both hands free to carry a litter or weapons and gear. When stowed in cover case, Flat IFAK is the same shallow depth as the BLOCS Gen III plate carrier. Snug in dispenser case, will not dispense without sufficient force by the operator.

Pouch Only. Contents not included.

Unobtrusive April 3, 2015

Attached to the back of my Point Blank Active Shooter Kit. Packed it with a 4" Olaes, two Z-Pak's, shears, gloves and HALO seal. Keeps things nice and thin. Whole kit fits in a S.O. Tech MACTAC pack. Only complaint is the shears handle get in the way during packing, nit-picking. Happy with purchase.

Great Lumbar IFAK April 3, 2015
Reviewer: Josh Duke from Bonners Ferry, ID United States
I got this over the SOE Gear Low Profile Aid Kit because I didn't want two big red handles and wanted to sew smaller swathes of red on the inside of the handles to signify that it was an IFAK.

I currently have it mounted on the back of my ATS War Belt, and while there are only three rows of MOLLE available on the belt, I can still mount it securely enough and out of the way of my Edmom dump pouch.

I have gloves, an NPA, two Combat Gauze, two compressed gauze, 4" Flat ETD, two ARS decomp needles, a sharpie, and a twin pack of HALO chest seals in it.  It is nice and slim and helps me stick to having a low profile setup on both my belt and plate carrier (I don't have any pouches double-stacked anywhere on my gear).

My TQ is mounted on my chest above my rifle mags, and my shears will ride in its own holster when it arrives.

Lightweight and should hold up fine being 500D.

Excellent Size for a medic April 3, 2015

I wear this IFAK in my High Speed Gear Sure-Grip belt. It fits really well in the lower back area. I have a vest with soft armor and plates. The IFAK doesn't interfere with the fit of my belt or vest. This is what I have in it:
-H bandage
-Halo Chest Seal
-14g needle
-Nasal airway
-IV set up with saline lock
-Nitrile Gloves
-Emergency Blanket
-Compressed Kerlix
-Combat Gauze
-Ziplock with band aids and Motrin

I previously used the CTOMS Slimline Med Pack. It was good, but in the way on my side and couldn't hold as much.

Great IFAK pouch! April 3, 2015
Reviewer: Geo Bracero from Cape Coral, FL United States
Excellent low profile pouch to set up on a battle belt. Only complaint is no velcro on outer casing for med patch, blood type, NKDA in the event someone comes to work on you. I ended up attaching a admin pouch to the front for little stuff like a casualty card small bandages...that's the only reason I didn't give 5 stars and did I say it's as tight to get in as a girl on prom night?

Amazing service January 27, 2015

I ordered this pouch during the end of year sale and had expected the delivery to take a few extra days to get to me, but I direly needed it for required training within days of ordering it. SKD did an excellent job by sending the pitch to me, and while it didn't arrive the day it was supposed to due to weather/road conditions, it made it to me the following day and was a 100% improvement to the gear that I was wearing. Thanks for the quick delivery, it made a huge difference in the way my gear operates.
