Much lighter, cooler and more comfortable than the external kneepads, but not quite as much protection.  I wore these during a training class at a gravel range.  ZERO discomfort when hitting the ground on my knees.  The only drawback is they don't protect the knees of your pants, which can get torn up a bit.  I'd buy them again.

Great, no instructions, tough September 20, 2010

While one would think this would be a little self explanatory, my dad thought otherwise. Don't cut them in half, the whole lower half of the pad goes in the insert pocket, and the upper half stays out.

That said, I picked up two sets for myself and my dad for airsoft use. When they arrived, I thought they were a little flimsy to be charging $20 for, but my first test proved me wrong. I put the pads in my BDUs and dropped knee-first onto a rather large piece of gravel. Normally, I'd say this would fall between "Manly tear" and "Crippling" on the pain scale. Minor discomfort and a desire to move were the only things I experienced. If that's not a selling point, I don't know what is.

Not for my Knees February 26, 2010

Well I purchased these to go in my Multicams.  They fit just fine and when I knelt down the pad felt nice thick and robust.  Lots of cushion.

After that though it only took about 30 seconds of walking around with them inserted for me to realize they are just way to rigid and stiff.  They do not give flex or bend easily when walking causing them to rub up and down on your knee with each step.  I would imagine if I had to sprint in these to cover my knees would quickly be rubbed raw.  

Over all the cushion the provide is far outweighted by the wear they place on your knees when you walk.  

I would say look another place for a good all around knee pad.

The thicker build of these pads makes them more shock-absorbent than the foam pads offered by many vendors.
Unfortunately they're too large to fit into the knee pockets of many BDU and similar pants.
If you've got pockets large enough and don't mind the stiffness, they'll give you a lot more knee protection than a 1/4'' of foam.

More comfortable than exterior pads, no straps to rub and they stay in place.
