One piece aluminum construction -no plastic clips or additional attachments needed. The tight aluminum fit and friction bond created by the anodized finish provides the snuggest of fits while still allowing for quick detachment. The Strikemark picatinny mount is compatible with the Contour camera's railed grooves and is designed to elevate your HD camera experience. Seconds to install -slide the mount over the rail, tighten, and slide in your Contour camera just like you would any other mount. Tight fit March 22, 2013

This will be a very tight fit on your Contour cam.  You won't be able to slide your Contour on and off quickly and easily.  It will take time and effort.

SKD Tac is awesome though.  Fast delivery and superior customer service.

I ordered this mount to work with a Contour Roam2 HD. Mount goes on rail as advertised however the camera would not fully slide onto the mount. After further inspection it looks like the mount rails were to wide to accept the camera. I had to take a pair of Channel Locks and squeeze them in just a tad closer together. The camera then slid on and appeared to be solid. I would have give it 5 stars if I hadn't had to fix it. I will say that SKD tactical shipped my order quickly and I had the mount in 2 days. Absolutely supberb service.


REPLY FROM STRIKEMARK:

This is a fairly common issue and it is completely normal. Because Contour doesn't have a "locking" type of mounting system, it needs to be tight in order to account for recoil of the weapon as well as when the plastic slots on the camera get broken-in after time and loosten up. Additionally, in speaking with the guys over at Contour, we've discovered that the tolerances in the mounting slots vary, albeit ever so slightly, from model to model of all of the cameras Contour offer. Given this, we had to design a solution that worked for all Contours. Better too tight than too loose I always say. I assure you that the camera is designed to withstand the pressure it takes to fully seat the camera on the weapon. Additionally, you'll find it almost impossible to seat the camera on the mount if the mount is not attached to the weapon, as it takes leverage and a very specific direction of motion. I even recommend the "hammer palm" technique to seat and unseat the camera. I hope that helps resolve the issue...

I am impressed with the quality of the Contour mount but was a little surprised about how tight the camera is on the mount.  Friction is the only thing keeping the camera on the mount so it has to be very tight.  Don't want that expensive camera falling off.  

Even so it actually takes a fair amount of force to get the camera on and once it is on it is a real b**ch to get off.  It works really well if you want to leave the camera on and rarely, if ever, remove it.

It would be a 5 star product if it had a quick detach lever or screw clamp design like scope rings for attachment to the picatinny rail.  This would make transferring the camera to another rail much easier while still maintaining a sold mount.  Of course that would increase cost but would really enhance usability.
