great mount need old style wrench May 3, 2012

This is a high quality mount. Do not think because other people rated it lower that it is not a great mount. Their issues about getting the stock nut tight would be resolved if they used a peg type armorer's wrench.  Fit and finish are great.

The sling mount installed relatively easily, but a proper castle nut wrench is necessary.  A spanner type wrench will not clear the mount.  For performance, the Troy sling adapter is perfect, looks good and is adaptable for either side use.

Robust and Well Machined November 16, 2009

I bought the Troy OEM Sling Mount because I wanted an ambi attachment point for a 1 point sling. The mount is very robust and locks into the sling plate groove of the lower perfectly. The FDE finish matches perfectly with Magpul's FDE furniture. The only drawback is that the mount blocks the castle nut from being tightened down with a wrench. Overall, I'm very satisfied.
