With unlimited mounting options and greater heat dispersion, the Alpha Rail® once again sets a new industry standard in modular free float rail design. Comes with three detachable rails and all mounting hardware. Troy® Alpha Rail® is machined from 6061-T6 hardened aircraft aluminum and finished in MIL-SPEC Type III Hard Coat Anodizing. Works with standard AR15/M16 barrel nut.

Fantastic Rail System February 15, 2012

I purchased this rail system for a 16" BCM midlength of mine a few weeks ago for the purpose of having a modular light weight rail that gives me a continuous rail on my upper receiver. Installation of the rail is very simple using the supplied barrel nut and wrench and took no more than a half hour from disassembling my upper and changing barrel nuts to tightening down the two screws holding the rail system in place. Overall I am happy with the rail's modularity as there are rail pieces that can be moved anywhere on the rail and it's ease of installation. I also like the fact the 13" rail allows me to place my hands further down the rifle giving me better control while firing. The only complaint I have about this rail is that the texture and the small holes that riddle the rail can become slightly uncomfortable without gloves but this is easily fixed with troy's new squid grips and after a while your hands get used to the rail. Overall, well worth the sub $200 price tag.

Its a good tight rail, very skinny profile. Nice for someone with smaller hands. Installation is easy as well. I would say this is the best slick rail for the price. Only thing better is the KAC URX III.

Great Lightweight Rail System June 15, 2011

If you are looking for a simple, lightweight rail, and you don't need miles of rail, consider the Troy TRX Extreme Battlerail. It is very simple to install on your upper and configure where you want to put the small rail sections. If you are using the 13" rail you will need a low profile gas block to be able to install this rail. A simple Troy LoPro Gas block does the job perfectly and leaves you plenty of clearance.

I currently only use the two small rail sections that are included. One to mount a flashlight on the side and one on the bottom to mount a bipod for bench shooting. The instructions do say that you might need to remove the entire rail to install the rail sections, but with some effort and a little thinking, you can leave it on to install or uninstall the rails sections as needed.

The only downside is that using it without gloves can be uncomfortable at times and can get hot, but a simple pair of gloves solves that issue.

The fit and finish of the installed Troy TRX Extreme Battle Rail is amazing. Intallation was a snap and is solid as a rock. The handguard is thinner than many competitors and extreamly light weight. it comes with three rail sections for attachment at your own discrestion. I can't find anything bad to say about this handguard. I want to put the TROY TRX on all of my AR's!
