Now in Rip Stop! May 8, 2013

This is my third, or fourth, Multicam Boonie Cover that I have purchased from SKD.  The first ones were all faded and worn thin in about two years time, but that was because they were the twill style material, as seen in the product description photos.  

This year, when I received my new boonie cover, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they are now made with the 50/50 NYCO ripstop material.  They covers are now much lighter, more comfortable, and less prone to fading.

Thanks, SKD, for making these excellent quality USA made covers available, and also for making this improvement to the product!

Great Hat/Great Service April 25, 2013

This hat is what I want, the real thing. I'm former military and I'm used to the ones we were issued. Too many of the ones I find in supply stores are knock-offs that don't fit right. I want a product made in the USA.
Price was reasonable, shipped immediately and had it as fast as the postal service could deliver it.
Because its real it performs properly when hiking; good brim size, right weight and fabric feel, it breathes right and dries quickly.
I will shop here again.

Best Boonie out there March 11, 2013

I love boonie hats.  I have been looking for a USA made Multicam Boonie for a long time.  This boonie is made by R&B inc in the USA and is the best of the best.  If you are relaxing by the pool or beach, hunting and fishing, working in the yard, or protecting our country, this boonie is THE boonie you should have.  

The construction is perfect. No loose strings or stitches.  The fit is just right for my big head. I got the 7 3/4.  I like this hat so much that I ordered a second one and the SKD Tactical Ball Cap.  

A little tip... Iron the brim flat with a lot of steam and then you can shape it any way you want and it will stay that way after it has dried.

In his book “The Ultimate Sniper” Major John Plaster points out the advantages of the classic boonie hat for disguising the distinctive shape of the human head. I am a firm believer in the MultiCam pattern, but this hat also incorporates an outside band to permit easy attachment of supplemental camouflage, including natural vegetation. The hat appears to be extremely well made of quality rip-stop material. I believe it will outlast me. And it’s made in the USA!

The only criticism I have is that the vegetation band is made of shiny webbing material—probably nylon—that reflects more light than the other cloth. I will spritz it with a bit of matte camo paint before wearing it.

I am willing to pay more for US made products, especially when they are superior to their competition.  This is the case with this hat.  You will not be able to find an import version of this hat that is even comparable.
