*Machined from 6061-T6 hardened aircraft aluminum and finished in MIL-SPEC Type III Hard Coat Anodizing

Great product... Very Happy. January 4, 2012

As usual SKD shipped smoking fast.  Item was priced well and in perfect shape.  The 9" version is perfect for a 10.3" barrel with a suppressor.  The texture of the hand guard is easier on the hands than the regular Troy TRX Extreme rail.  I like the VTAC version much more.  There is still plenty of options for attaching rails and sling points.  

The barrel nut is a quality items and the wrench is a bonus but the normal DPMS armors wrench fits just fine as well.  The two allen screws snug it up just fine and I had no issue with the low profile DD gas block fitting under it, there is plenty of clearance.
