Great for females January 13, 2013

As a female contractor deploying to Afghanistan, I bought the BAE RBAV-AF, with the Velocity Systems plates and soft armor. I can't say enough great things about the comfort of this kit. There aren't a lot of great options out there for women, and typically I end up wearing things that are a few generations behind the males, and very boxy. This kit is very lightweight, and the Velcro bands inside at the waist let me keep the body armor snug around my hips so it doesn't feel like it bangs around or lists strangely while on. When I'm sitting, the kit pushes up somewhat, but doesn't start to hit me in the chin. And the service was great!

Velocity Systems IIIA panels came packaged very well. Vest was rolled gently to fit in shipping package. Velocity Systems products are highly thought of. I found a contract given to them by US Secret Service for same ballistics as I purchased. These panels fit carriers that take BALCS cut armor. Panels also measure out correctly to Gov't spec.  This armor has the V50 fragmentation protection also.
SKD is great to deal with. Shipping is freaky fast. I get most of my orders in 2 days.
Would not hesitate to order Velocity Systems products again. I have worn armor daily for years and these are built right.
Note: If fitting to Condor Defender or QPC cariers, purchase only large size panels. Condor website says Large or X-Large fit. X-Large panels do not fit correctly. They end up bunching and folding in places. Large armor would fit perfectly.

Hopefully I won't I have to find out if it actually works, but it appears to be of sound construction and true to size.  Also very lightweight and flexible compared to other armor I've worn.

Velocity Systems BALCS Armor Inserts November 7, 2011

These inserts work perfectly with the Eagle Industries MAR-CIRAS. At first when I received them, I thought they might not fit properly, but turns out they fit perfectly with no buckling or bulging.  The inserts are very stiff in comparison to some of the other manufacturers I've seen, but that may just be because the panels are brand-spankin' new.  New Armor Smell included.  Great product, quick and efficient customer service.  SKD is still awesome, and does it again.
