Velocity Systems PIG Plate Carrier Soft Armor Backer (1 Pair), 100% Dyneema

These 100% Dyneema Plate Backers from Velocity Systems are specifically sized for the PIG Plate Carrier and PIG BRIG Plate Carrier Soft Armor Backer Sleeve (SYSTEMA), and are made to NIJ IIIA equivalent specifications.

Plate Backers are required to bring up the spec of some In-Conjunction Hard Armor Plates, but due to their small size, should not be considered Stand-Alone ballistic panels. Although 100% Kevlar was considered as an option for cost savings, Dyneema was selected because of the significant weight savings, and frankly, Dyneema rates higher on the GUCCI-Tactical scale.

All Velocity Systems ballistic panels are RF welded/heat sealed in a urethane coated nylon to protect from moisture and debris.

Fit is a bit tight June 3, 2012

I purchased these because they were "made" for the PIG and I was concerned about other backers being too big.  Well, these are definately on the tight side.  they fit, but they didn't slide right in place.

Excellent addition to PIG Carrier January 7, 2012

Lightweight, perfect fit for the PC.  Provides enough cushion for the plate in the PC and keep you from having to wear other soft armor under the PC...it's all just grab and go vest now.
