Vltor Gas Block - Clamp-on March 8, 2012

I wanted the clamp on version of the Vltor gas block for future removal and ease of installation.  The gas block fit perfectly and installed easily.  I actually wound up breaking a set screw over tightening.  Be careful.   Did make it to the range, worked perfectly.  

I've read reviews that tested the strength of clamp-on blocks.  The blocks failed after torque that sheared the index pin on the barrel extension.  So fear not, they are a strong enough mounting solution!

I ordered the clamp-on version of the Vltor Gas Block .750 for mounting under a Troy TRX Extreme Rail and couldn't be happier. The two go together like peanut butter and jelly; like ebony and ivory; like pickles and icecream... alright maybe not the last one, but the Vltor Gas Block is a solid device! It is now my goto Low Profile Gas Block for all AR Builds!

High Quality Gas Block January 30, 2010

Very high quality gas block. Works great on my AR. However, the clamp on version was not compatible with one of my Larue rails (set screw should work).
