Vltor Modular Upper Receiver

The Vltor MUR (Modular Upper Receiver) is a rigid MilSpec flat-top upper receiver made to fit all AR15/M16/M4 rifles and carbines.

The MUR was developed to give the customer a MilSpec correct upper receiver with a thicker wall making the MUR upper receiver a more rigid platform. A more rigid upper receiver will increase accuracy and reliability while extending the life of interfacing components such as the bolt carrier group and barrel assembly. 

The main benefit of the MUR is it's dimensionally correct. Unfortunately, with the current war effort, a number of AR suppliers are rushing through production, bypassing critical dimensions which will either make or break the reliability and accuracy of the weapon. With the existence of the MUR, you'll receive the best and highest quality upper receiver available on the market today. 

The MUR comes in two models: one with a Bolt-Assist/Shell-Deflector (MUR-1A) and the second with a Shell-Deflector only (MUR-1S). Being a modular design, Vltor offers the service of exchanging the Bolt-Assist assembly for a Shell-Deflector only assembly and vise-versa. 

All MURs feature a MilStd-1913 scope mounting rail and come equipped with an Ejection-Port, Dust Cover Door.

Finish is excellent and it fits perfect with a billett lower.  FYI - tried it on my Colt forged lower and it was a bit thicker made and didn't look right.  SKD was fast, will order from them again.

Purchased this for a 9mm upper build. I highly recommend the Vltor for this as it is THICK. You do not need the forward assist for this, so it is darn near perfect. Had it in just a few days. As always, great service.

The Vltor Mod upper without the forward assist is a burly, solid, perfect piece of hardware for the larger caliber AR build.
This one is destined for a 6.5 Grendel build.

This was my second order from SKDTAC, and just as the first, everything went incredibly smoothly and I received my item quickly.

Having used this for a while now, I am beyond impressed.  Compared to all of the other uppers I've handled and used, the MUR is a cut above.  The VLTOR MUR has no equals, be they forged or billet.  The tolerances are exact and true, and the construction is significantly better and more heavy-duty than a standard forged upper.  The M4 feed ramps are cut precisely and they line up with barrel extension feed ramps exactly.  
I am in the process of converting all of my previous builds to MUR uppers (w/ forward assists).  I can't believe I waited so long to get one.

Purchased this for my second build and unlike the first, I did my research. I was looking to build the best possible rifle from the best possible parts. The VLTOR MUR-1 upper surpassed my expectations in every way. The walls are slightly thicker than your standard upper giving the rifle a nice rigid feel. Locked in solid with my Spikes lower (the matte finish also matched too which was a nice plus!). If you are looking for great looking and rock solid upper this is it. Worth every penny.
