LaRue IndexClips, 72 Piece Set (LT708)

Quickly find where your optics need to re-attach. These handy low-profile clips were designed to be attached on the rail, against optics, lasers and other MIL-STD-1913 mounted accessories, providing a quick-index to return to the same point...especially in the dark. Each set comes complete with 72 total clips, 60 regular and 12, designed to hold tapeswitch wires along the rail's edge. LaRue IndexClips are easy to install, and stay-put until pried off (a Dillo's foot works really well for this). Several clips in a row can be used to protect a length of rail, and feature a non-slip surface.

Awesome alternative to bulky rail covers, nice added touch that they hold flashlight/laser wires in place.  Super fast shipping from SKD, just have to say "WOW!".

These clips are great.  If you have accessories on your rails, then there are probably even enough to cover open spaces on your upper rail too.  The pieces that anchor the wires are great and allow you to control your wiring better than anything I've seen.  They are small and don't double the size of your rails like some rail covers do.

If you are looking for something slimmer the an XTM type rail cover the LaRue Index Clips are just the ticket. Much more comfortable that ladder rail protectors as well. Nice tight fit.

I have looked at multiple hand guards for my M4 and LWRC M6 rifles. These index clips work the best, easy on and off, durable and light weight. they do the intended job and don't make the rifle bulky.
