Great for females December 31, 2012
Reviewer: Rebecca from High Falls, NY United States
As a female contractor deploying to Afghanistan, I bought the BAE RBAV-AF, with the Velocity Systems plates and soft armor. I can't say enough great things about the comfort of this kit. There aren't a lot of great options out there for women, and typically I end up wearing things that are a few generations behind the males, and very boxy. This kit is very lightweight, and the Velcro bands inside at the waist let me keep the body armor snug around my hips so it doesn't feel like it bangs around or lists strangely while on. When I'm sitting, the kit pushes up somewhat, but doesn't start to hit me in the chin. And the service was great!

Great quality vest November 21, 2012
Reviewer: James from Romeoville, IL United States
The design is great and the balance on the vest seems to be perfect.  With the internal elastic cummerbund the vest was riding high in front when I first tried it on, once I added the M4 pouches the front shifted down to the correct positioning without feeling like it was being dragged down by the weight of the magazines.

Great vest! November 13, 2012
Reviewer: Brad from Cincinnati, OH United States
I was worried about the 500D cloth instead of 1000D, while less durably it allows the vest to form and hug your body much closer! the button strap for the side plate pocket only fits a 6"x6" plate but the pocket itself fits a full sized ESAPI 7"x8" plate and is securely held in place by the elastic mag straps. Hold BALCS/SPEAR inserts and appears to be able to hold a rifle plate one size smaller or larger than the vest size.

The vest releases easily and quickly, with practice i can reassemble in about 1 minute.

Im 6'0" 190' and the large vest fits me well.

What i didnt like was that the front lower molle area must be lifted up from the the velcro to attach the cummerbund, kind of a hassle and might be a issue for those who attach heavy loads to their molle in their belly area.

Its similar to the Eagle Land CIRAS in design, which was what i planned to buy original but you can get a NEW RBAV for less than a USED CIRAS!

Overall I'm happy and felt this vest was a great deal!

BAE RBAV-AF October 28, 2012
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Panama City, FL United States
This vest was better than expected.  It is as comfortable as a plate carrier and extremely comfortable even with plates; which sit right where they need to be.  There is also zero slop between the armor and vest.  If you wear a medium IOTV, a medium will still work for you.  There is a little less coverage, but it makes for better mobility.  If you require ID panels, I would recommend purchasing add-ons, as there is not very much velcro real estate.
