Blackhawk CQC SERPA Active Retention Holster

Glock 20/21 holster also fits S&W M&P .45

BlackHawk CQC SERPA Holster Matte Finish. Patented #5,918,784 and other Patents Pending. This unique holster design allows you to forget old-fashioned thumb breaks that slow your draw and complicate re-holstering. The patented SERPA lock engages the trigger guard as you holster the pistol and won't let go until you release it. The release is made using your normal drawing motion, with the trigger finger beside the holster body.

As your trigger finger naturally comes to rest on the SERPA lock's release mechanism, simply push the mechanism as you draw the weapon and it releases the gun for a smooth, fast draw. No awkward use of a middle finger release or thumb break to interfere with a full combat grip, the SERPA lock lets you draw the weapon quickly while establishing a full grip from start to finish. Unlike thumb breaks, which can sometimes be difficult to fasten one-handed, the SERPA lock allows you to re-holster quickly and securely every time, using only one hand. The SERPA holster has the same speed cut and concealment enhancing design of our Standard Model Carbon Fiber Holster. All BlackHawk CQC SERPA holsters come with both belt loop and paddle platforms.

SERPA Technology Features:
  • Full firing grip for draw and immediate retention upon reholstering
  • No thumb break or awkward middle finger release to slow down your draw
  • Speed cut allows faster draw and easy reholsterng

Feels good on the draw but... January 12, 2013
Reviewer: Tyler Wilson from IL. United States
I purchased this holster for my XD...my thoughts,

-I have a 5" barrel & it sticks out of the bottom of the holster, you may or may not care about this.

-I personally like the position of the lever/lock & how it is disengaged, feels natural. I believe it is a matter of proper training and user error is what hurts a lot of people with these holsters, though in a high stress situation you never know how you will react and the location of the lever MAY pose a significant risk of you accidentally slipping your finger into the trigger guard & firing upon unholstering.

-I tested this myself & it is rather easy to lock up the lever making it impossible to unholster your firearm. Sand, dirt, pebbles, & even snow will all lock it up if exposed. Something to think about.

-After handling it really feels like the material of the holster & attachments would snap/crack if someone tried to take your gun. I have seen this happen with these holsters.

I want to like it but it's not for me.

Fast holster. November 25, 2012

Admitedly, my experience with this holster is limited, but my thoughts are as follows:

the postives- for a holster with level 2 retention, it's a very fast and natural draw and reholster.  coming with the belt threading or paddle option is nice.

the negatives- I don't know if I'd trust this thing for 6 months of getting moon dust blown through it, as the release mechanism might get gummed up and leave me hosed when I need a fast draw.

My favorite holster June 5, 2012
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Tennessee, United States
I purchased the Blackhawk CQC serpa holster to replace a Fobus holster that didn't quite fit my Gen 4 Glock 17. I was so impressed with the serpa holster that I just bought another for my 92FS. I'm using it with the Blackhawk molle holster adapter on a Tactical Tailor Battle Belt and it works perfectly. These holsters are made in the USA, which is also important to me. SKD shipped my order lightning fast, as always. 5 stars.

I've been using the SERPA holsters for years now. It's always my first choice when setting my KIT up for high-pro or low-pro missions. Works great with Molle adapter for high-pro
