Blue Force Gear Lightweight Modular Armor Carrier™ (LMAC™)

The Lightweight Modular Armor Carrier™ is the lightest in class, full featured armor carrier. The LMAC™ can accommodate a full load out or be stripped down for ultra lightweight, low profile operations.

Standard are low profile shoulder straps that do not interfere with shouldering weapons, carrying assault packs, or worn under civilian outer garments. Enhanced Shoulder Pad Wraps are available from BFG offering additional padding for increased comfort with heavier loads or all day comfort.

Also standard is the PlatePillow - a closed cell foam insert at the top of the carrier on the front to reduce chin and neck injuries and discomfort for shifting plates. Also standard are the included 6"x6" side plate pockets able to hold 6"x6" plates or flat items. The MOLLE exterior lifts up for attaching the 2" elastic waist strap or LMAC Ten-Speed Side Closures - 3 Cell. The Multicam version has matching Multicam printed loop fields on the front for ID or IFF patches.

Packaged with the front and rear armor carriers, 2" elastic waist strap, two side 6"x6"plate pockets, and front and rear MOLLE panels for armor carrier.

Disappointed to say the least. April 19, 2015

Ordered a large for my LG SAPI plates as instructed.  I have plate backers and there is still so much play in the front plate pocket.   Hook and Loop seems very cheap.  Regret purchasing this plate carrier immediately.  Just unboxed it yesterday and after playing with it a little bit, will be hopefully able to return it.  Should have stuck with buying another FS  Strandhogg.  Hoping I can return this item.

Awkward Donning and Doffing, Loose Plate Pocket July 30, 2014
Reviewer: Scott from San Clemente, CA United States
BFG usually makes good kit.  I was not a fan of this plate carrier, however.  Its not a quality issue, but rather a design issue for me.  It was not user friendly for me to get in and out of, and I didn't care for the side plate carriers either.  The front panel flap has no tab to aid in lifting so you have to grab a corner to lift up to secure the cummerbund underneath.  The cummerbund consists of a small elastic strap that velcros in place under the flap, or you can integrate the side carriers which makes it even more awkward to try and lift the flap on the side to secure the elastic strip underneath.  When I did get it on and adjusted, I found the plate pocket to have excess loose material and the medium carrier looked sloppy with medium plates in it.

On the plus side the plate pillow is awesome. At the end of the day it will hold plates but for me the juice wasn't worth the squeeze, especially when there are better designed plate carriers out there for less money.

Excellent product. Maybe the front panel should be one or two inches longer at the bottom. I use this with first spear shoulder pad...

Excellent, with few minor problems January 30, 2013

This plate carrier is actually very well made. However, some problems (or rather uncomfortableness) that I've experienced were the shoulder straps and the way Velcro the holds the plates in the vest sometimes sag.

As plates and miscellaneous gear are added onto the vest, the weights begin to really eat at your shoulders due to lack of padding. I highly recommend buying some shoulder pads for this plate carrier. I've inserted two SAPI plates and a Pantac MBSS onto my back, and the weight really started to eat at my shoulders from the straps. This bothered me, and I'm a pretty darn strong guy.
In addition to that, once the plates were inserted, from time to time, for example after running or walking around a lot, the plates started sag down. I like to run my plates all the way up against the plate pillow, but after a while, the Velcro begins to slide down and give away, making the plates sag and having a floppy upper part of the plate carrier where the plate pillow is.

Excellent September 13, 2012

Very, very comfortable PC. Really loving the plate pillow, has definitely saved me from chipping some teeth. The cummerbund works well, but I'll most likely buy the PiG cummerbund like the other reviewer for more webbing. LMAC is a comfortable, lightweight, tough, good looking product. Buy it.
