Great Pack, January 17, 2014
Reviewer: J.no 0088 from Oglala, SD United States
I used my old pack everyday, carry books for school and other random items. Nothing tactical nor extreme as I'm civilian.

Relying on my pack for my daily commute, as it was my only pack. The time came to search/research for a new Backpack. One feature that stuck out to me was the Linchpins Futura Harness system. The pack is comfortable when carrying my few daily items, also pretty compact when synced down. It is capable/designed to carry heavier loads if need be (which occurred more then I imagined as I was outdoors a lot). This is the main feature that sold me.

I didn't want a pack with molle, as I thought it would stand out more in a civilian setting. Maybe it does still stand out, but I think it stands out more as a Fancy hiking pack. My decision wasn't a pack for school, but one that can carry my books, with an emphasis on hiking/outdoor type stuff. Its my only pack, and I use it for everything.

I opted for the coyote. The color compliments my country background well.

Great Pack December 8, 2013
Reviewer: LongShot from Temecula, CA United States
I am an infantry Marine, and I used this pack daily on my deployment to Afghanistan. The wire ports on top were perfect for carrying my 152 green gear radio. One port was used for my hand mic, and the other port was used for the antenna. The D-ring on the shoulder strap allowed me to clip the handset on the pack securely. The side pouches fit 5 mags, but I used one side for 3 and the other side for a smoke grenade. The elastic pouch held pop-ups and othe grenades perfectly, and were easly accessable by my Marines if I was too busy to take off my pack. It held a recon 3 sleeping back and enough gear for 3 day patrols, and the MOLLE webbing on the bottom allowed me to jimmy rig my ISOMAT. Small pouch on top let me put my Oakley case in there, and the bottom held note taking gear and othe misc items perfectly. I highly recommend this pack to anyone. I got this pack in 2010, and still use for training and hikes without any problems. GET THIS PACK!!!

HAWG evolved February 17, 2012
Reviewer: Nick from Sacramento, CA United States
I gave my original HAWG pack to my cousin and had been regretting it every day since. So, I purchased the Linchpin, thinking it was like a HAWG on steroids. It is that, and more. Starting small, you have the two stash pockets both on the top, and in the front of the admin pocket. Great places to stow small items. The admin pocket is a standard for Camelbaks. I use to add side pouches to my HAWG, so having them included on this pack is great. The large pocket is roomy, and fits everything you need for a day. the Hydration pocket is also standard. I also like the addition of the outer, open stash pouch between the admin and main pocket. The biggest bonus is the MR harness though. This is what puts the Linchpin lightyears passed the HAWG. Easy to adjust, and exceedingly more comfortable than the standard harness. I purchased the pack in Coyote Tan, a great color that doesnt scream,"Im a gear junkie!" That is, unless you serve. Thank you SKD for the service, and Camelbak for the product.

Patrol Pack October 24, 2010
Reviewer: SSG Stix from Boston, MA United States
The Linchpin is definitely designed for one thing... patrolling. The Futura Harness is comfortable and fits great over the IOTV. The bag is sized for the essentials, MRE, raingear, extra ammo, and a few odds and ends. Great bag for someone who does short patrols but maybe carries some special gear. (Use mine for a forensic evidence collection kit). Filling the bladder cramps the main compartment some. Also, the overflow pocket is a cool idea, but does not fit my XL helmet. Good for raingear or anything else a little bulky that you don't mind exposed to the elements.
