Esstac Chest Rig, Bush Boar

The Esstac Bush Boar holds up to 6 M4 magazines internally, with or without Magpuls. These integral mag pockets have open bottoms so sand, dirt or water drains immediately. Great for operations ranging from amphibious to mounted and urban. 16 PALS channels to mount your other pouches. Side-release buckles at all strap attachment points for easy on/off. If a different capacity chest rig is needed, the Boar has 2 more M4 pouches and a total of 20 PALS channels, while the Trim Bush has 2 fewer M4 pouches and 14 PALS channels.

One of the most innovative features of the Boar system is that the integral mag pouches can be removed and swapped out for a different configuration or weapon system. This makes the Boar the only chest rig that is truly a system and more versatile than any other rig on the market. All Esstac Boar Series Chest Rig Back Panels now come standard with the overwhelmingly popular KYWI (KYdex Wedge Insert) retention system. Standard bungee retention flaps are available separately.

Got multiple weapons? Here's a sample of how the Boar can adapt to your needs. Take the Bush Boar in the M4 configuration, which will hold 6 mags. Then add the 7.62 back panel with KYWIs, and a 762 Back Panel with AK Flap Retainers. These back panels can be swapped out quickly and this would give you complete coverage for an M4, SR-25 and an AK system while keeping all your Molle support pouches up front universal. Since the front remains the same regardless of what mags you carry, you don`t have to move utility pouches from one rig to another, or buy multiple complete rig setups!

  • 6x Magazine with optional 762 back panel
  • Can be had with Kywi or Bungee inserts
  • Available in BLK, CB, MC and RG
  • Padded Harness and Hydration Carrier available separately

This came super quick!  The quality is top notch.  I had the hydration pack, 8 full mags,  IFAK, and more and still felt comfy.  Straps are nice and padded.  Lot's of adjustment points to get it fitting just right.   You can strap in the buckles for Tactical Tailors Fight Light pack onto the padded harness and the harness strap will loop through the backpack.  They work well together.

5 of 5 Well made Rig September 28, 2014
Reviewer: Robert Jones from Clayton, NC United States
The camo 7.62 chest rig i bought was well worth it's cost.  The mag holsters are snug with the mag in them.  Thats good.  They hold the magazine well.
The stitching is strong on the stress points.
The padding from the addition back panel add great cushioning.
I would recumbent this setup to anyone looking for a rig that will  hold up over time.

4 of 5 High price, excellent quality. June 20, 2011

While the Esstac Bush Boar might be pricier than other rigs on this site, I have to say it is definitely worth it. The rig is constructed of solid materials and stitching, it feels great, as it sticks to your chest unlike others which flop around. The rig conforms to the wearer and will not chafe.  Since the bush boar has enough room for 6 magazines, the amount of gear this rig can hold is incredible for the size. Since the magazines of the wearers primary are concealed behind the front, on the face of the rig, you are able to put things like admin, med, and pistol mag pouches.  I would recommend the split front  boars if you plan on taking the rig on and off repeatedly. (I still prefer the regular boars for solidity.)The boar series from esstac are a great purchase, and if the user wants to further customize the rig, esstac offers a wide selection of other products to go along with it. Overall, a great piece of gear, well worth the premium price.

4 of 5 Good Lightweight Rig June 15, 2011
Reviewer: BadgerActual from Boerne, TX United States
I got this rig for my FAL and AK and it turned out that it worked very well. The adjustable height let me use both systems for my mags and kept it close to my body so it never slipped out anytime I was rolling or sprawling on the ground. The straps tend to dig in the shoulder a little and rub the neck but I remedied this with a shamagh.

4 of 5 Great Gear High Price December 21, 2010
Reviewer: Hoss from portland, OR United States
This gear is outstanding and very innovative, but unless you are specifically looking for a low pro rig that is very adaptable then your money may be spent better elsewhere. Once you buy all the accessories and a slick plate carrier, you might as well have just gone with an Eagle rig.
Still for what it is it's very good gear that I have toted around for a while as a lightweight rig.
