padded harness or pillowy softness?? July 7, 2016

the harness took only a few minutes to swap out and was very simple to figure out. with the hydration carrier added to the mix it balances everything out quite nicely and sits on the shoulders beautifully.. this is undoubtedly the unit i've been looking for. thank you skd for the speedy delivery!

Functions as expected, no problems. I keep a radio on the left shoulder strap attached to the provided webbing. If you don't carry a pack (or even if you do I guess), you can pretty easily attach a smaller molle hydration carrier to the back.

Like the Boar rig, the straps are about 2 feet longer than any human I've ever met would need, but you can just cut of what you don't need (when you're SURE you don't need it).

You can't harness this BOAR. October 7, 2015

This harness is NOT compatible with my Iberian Boar Chest Rig (formerly known as the build-a-boar).  Couldn't find any info prior to the purchase so I took a chance...and failed.  The straps on the padded harness are wider and the quick release buckles are larger.  The harness also doesn't have the hook/loop attachment points like the Iberian.  Too bad, it would have made a good rig great.

To be fair, the harness appears to be solid, good construction and priced well.  By its self it gets a good rating.

Expensive but worth it October 7, 2015

The harness redistributes the weight, making the entire rig very comfortable.  I was worried about the padding of the harness interfering with stock on my firing shoulder, but the shoulder strap is thinner than my other chest rig.  It actually is just the right compromise between width and comfort for me.  It is well built and we'll thought out.  Esstac makes an unpadded version of this harness for going over plate carriers if you have the same concerns that I did.  Stu at Esstac was very friendly and helpful when I got in touch with them with questions.  The rig (a Boar A1) with the harness is extremely comfortable and solid.  It doesn't shift around at all and with the harness feels more like a heavy coat.  It comes with a non-slip pad on the firing shoulder, but you could replace that with additional molle sleeves if you wanted.  The Boar A1 has a zip front but it is difficult to put on and off like a vest with the original straps.  the harness makes it very easy.
