Designed to be simple, but rugged. LaRue Tactical designed this LaRue BUIS (back-up iron sight) for AR- type flattops after several operator comments at the Small Arms Symposium...LaRue Tactical decided to do exactly as they said:

1. Put lever on right side so your knuckles don't get "racked" while doing speed-clears.
2. Flush-out the windage knob 'cause "it is a set-it-and-forget-it type of deal".
3. Delete the elevation stuff 'cause "it's a BUIS...not a Palma match".

  • Flush, coin-slotted windage adjustment
  • Same-plane small and large apertures
  • Comes complete with QD adjustment wrench, vial of blue Locktite and Instructions.
Now Available With XS Sight Systems.

As good as expected November 25, 2012

The sight is as tough as nails and straightforward in implementation.  I wager I'd destroy the rest of the rifle before this fails.

LaRue: Always a great product September 20, 2010
Reviewer: Alex
I wanted a fixed BUIS that was simple and rugged as hell.
The LaRue BUIS QD was that sight. Mounts easily, and more importantly it mounts securely. It ain't coming off from any abuse or misuse that it will see, and it's not going to lose zero over time.
Used in conjunction with a red dot like a T1 or M4 and a lower third co-witness, this combo is near perfect for anyone running a red dot that wants a bomb proof set up.

Pros: Solid, robust, secure, easy to attach and remove.
Cons: Having to adjust the locking nut, switching apertures takes more force than it feels like it should, adjustment clicks are positive, but a little mushy.

No Frills Solid Gear September 20, 2010
Reviewer: Mike B. from Ohio
This is a solid piece of gear with Larue's legendary return to zero capability.  I purchased this because I wanted a BUIS that I could absolutely rely on to never fall off, loose zero, or that required buttons and springs to make it actuate.  This product is a simple way to ensure that your BUIS is always in place and ready to go.  Another rock solid, quality piece of gear from Larue.

Rock solid September 12, 2010

I had decided I wanted a heavy duty fixed rear sight but I wanted it to be easily removable. This mount fits the bill. It is exactly what I want...set and forget. I will probably add this to future builds.

Toughest fixed rear on the market.  Built for abuse.

I prefer it to other fixed rears as it can be removed quickly in the field with no tools.

A little bulkier and heavier than other fixed rears.
