Mayflower HK417 Recce Chest Rig

The Recce Chest Rig (HK417) is designed as a long range, long duration reconnaissance vest to be used with the HK417 platform. To accommodate the increased weight this chest rig is made of a combination of 500D and 1000D materials. This chest rig is designed to be ambidextrous and carry the following: 6 ea HK417 magazines (3 open top, 3 in flapped pouches), two large GP pouches provided with a full flap (removable), and a flap and divider (removable) allowing an inter-team radio (PRC-152/PRC-148) with a BA 5590 or similar sized battery as the power source to be carried on either side, two small GP pouches sized for a camera, GPS, flash bang, mini-frag or similar sized items. The H style harness is padded and adjustable for width (horizontal portion of the H) for use with or without armor and has elastic and 1" webbing vertically spaced on the front for cable/antenna management, hydration tube routing and the mounting of additional small items . Elastic is provided on the front underside of the vest for antenna relocation. All buckles are ITW-Nexus IR and all materials and workmanship are 100% made in the USA.

*Due to the size of the HK417 magazines this chest rig will accommodate several different types/quantities of other types of magazines.

The Recce Chest Rig (HK417) is available in the following color: Black

Useless March 2, 2012

The Mayflower HK417 Chest Rig is a piece of crap. It does not fit 6 mags as stated and instead only fits 5. The shingles aren't big enough for the 417 mag and even when you do squeeze them in it's such a tight fit that it's a struggle to get them out in a hurry. I would not recommend it for any soldier. The smaller pouches aren't useful for anything other than maybe a leatherman and the radio pouches do not hold the radio firmly enough when fire and moving. All in all it is a pretty useless bit of kit.

Mayflower HK417 Recce Chest Rig November 29, 2011

Mayflower (and Velocity Systems) are my favorite of this year,I don't see myself needing or wanting anything else out side of those 2 companies ever again. The kit is tough and very light.I haven't really had a chance to get the HK17 chesty out,but I can tell you the fit is perfect, loaded up it's half the weight of anything I've used in the past. And when you have a question,Mayflower actually answers the phone.Oh yeah, its made here in the states and not the Dominican Republic

Multicam HK416 Recce Rig July 2, 2010
Reviewer: Mac from Thetford, Norfolk United Kingdom
Recently ordered this item from SKD.

The first thing that struck me was how light the rig is, weights about the same as 1 or 2 normal MOLLE pouches. Even though the rig has been made from lighter materials there is absolutly no compromise on the quality of the rig. Stress points are subject to extra stitching for strength, All clips and buckles are of a high military spec.

The description on both the Mayflower and SKD sites dont do the rig justice. I found that as well as the 6 5.56mm mags pictured in teh rig, i could easily fit another 3 mags, using the front pouches that have the flaps. Alternativly i found that in these "flapped" pouches i could also fit either 1 smoke or 2 frag grenades into them.

One other bit of kit i found handy with this rig is the ATS hydration bladder carrier. Its specifically designed to work on "H" harnesses so ideal.

Summary... dont get 1 - get 2!!! Awesome kit.

Thanks to all at SKD and Mayflower for the gear and great service.
