SKYDEX Helmet ACH/MICH Upgrade, Pads Only

SKYDEX Helmet ACH/MICH Pads - These things are a great upgrade for any MICH. I am a solid Medium for helmet size but because of the stiffness of the pads provided in a MICH, I always had comfort issues, and large is just too....large. These pads make me want to wear a helmet. Far more durable than conventional foam pads, the SKYDEX pad set will not soak up water or sweat due to the open sided twin hemisphere structures that allow moisture to pass through and evaporate. Developed to specifications required by the US Army, SKYDEX created a pad system that meets or beats all specifications as required for approval in the ACH and MICH helmets.  Compatible with most ballistic helmets, SKYDEX has fielded more than 750,000 kits to militaries and law enforcement worldwide.
  • State of the Art moisture wicking fabric
  • Quick Dry Reticulated Comfort Layer does not absorb moisture and increases air circulation
  • SKYDEX Impact Absorbing Layer absorbs more shock in less space than incumbent foam
  • Upgrade Kit works with either the Army Advanced Combat Helmet (ACH) or the USMC Light Weight Helmet (LWH)
  • Superior Impact Attenuation Over A Wide Range of Temperatures
  • Increased blast protection
  • Curved pads for superior comfort
  • Only military pad set with open airflow design that allows moisture to evaporate away from head

These pads are great.  They compress much better than the issue pads or those of their main competitor and feel softer throughout.  The pads don't create any hotspots from the compressed pads trying to expand under strain from wear.

They also fit in the helmet better.  Rather than having flat backs the pads are somewhat contoured so they grip more of the coins or strips of hook & loop and hug the inner contour of the helmet.  Not only do you have to fight expansion in other pads but, because they are straight rather than coontoured, you also have to fight their trying to flex back to straight.

If your pads fight you and try to pull on your chinstrap while wearing it or they just don't compress enough these are the pads for you.  The covering material also seems more durable and doesn't pile, stretch, and open in spots like others.
