finish is good, my only complaint is lack of qd, but at the same time with a camera mounted any weight savings is crucial to me so im not complaining.

A decent mount for your camera.... August 24, 2013
Reviewer: David from Leesburg, VA United States
I bought this mount because I could not find a Contour mount that was not being sold at an inflated price. It is a simple, easy to install mount. My only complaint is that it is not easily removable (like a LaRue mount). It would be really nice if placing an removing the mount did not require removal of the camera; that way, one could move the camera and mount from one thing to another simultaneously.

Tight fit March 22, 2013

This will be a very tight fit on your Contour cam.  You won't be able to slide your Contour on and off quickly and easily.  It will take time and effort.

SKD Tac is awesome though.  Fast delivery and superior customer service.

It works January 8, 2013

I ordered this mount to work with a Contour Roam2 HD. Mount goes on rail as advertised however the camera would not fully slide onto the mount. After further inspection it looks like the mount rails were to wide to accept the camera. I had to take a pair of Channel Locks and squeeze them in just a tad closer together. The camera then slid on and appeared to be solid. I would have give it 5 stars if I hadn't had to fix it. I will say that SKD tactical shipped my order quickly and I had the mount in 2 days. Absolutely supberb service.

This is a fairly common issue and it is completely normal. Because Contour doesn't have a "locking" type of mounting system, it needs to be tight in order to account for recoil of the weapon as well as when the plastic slots on the camera get broken-in after time and loosten up. Additionally, in speaking with the guys over at Contour, we've discovered that the tolerances in the mounting slots vary, albeit ever so slightly, from model to model of all of the cameras Contour offer. Given this, we had to design a solution that worked for all Contours. Better too tight than too loose I always say. I assure you that the camera is designed to withstand the pressure it takes to fully seat the camera on the weapon. Additionally, you'll find it almost impossible to seat the camera on the mount if the mount is not attached to the weapon, as it takes leverage and a very specific direction of motion. I even recommend the "hammer palm" technique to seat and unseat the camera. I hope that helps resolve the issue...
