Magpul BEV™ Block – AR15/M4
The BEV™ Block (Barrel Extension Vise) is an all-in-one, compact vise block tool for AR15/M4 assembly operations of barrel nuts, flash hiders, etc.
Mounts securely in a vise and provides support for both billet and forged upper receivers. Engages barrel extension with solid steel lugs and full length support shank to prevent flexing. Steel hardness is optimized for durability yet won't damage barrel extension, and Magpul Polymer is used for all other engagement surfaces to protect aluminum receiver. O-ring post uses bolt carrier for additional stability and included Pin keeps upper in proper position.
The BEV™ can also be turned over and used as a mag well vise block to support the lower receiver during maintenance, etc.

Pretty good mag block
Does a great job securing a lower when working on it. The only complaint is that when using to to work on an upper and engaging the barrel extension itÕs slightly wobbly even when you have the pivot pin engaged and the bcg inserted. Not a big deal or anything. It holds it good enough to get work done and at the price I canÕt complan.

Great Tool for the Gun Bench
I've used clamp devices with inserts to work on upper receivers in the past. These don't always fit billet receivers, and they require you to remove the optic and/or BUIS on forged receivers. These clamp devices also tend to transfer torque to the alumimum upper receiver when installing/removing muzzle devices. A reaction rod that mates with the barrel extension overcomes these issues, but it is a fairly expensive item. I have also used separate blocks that insert into the magwell that allow you to work on lower receivers. The Magpul BEV (Barrel Extension Vise) Block does an excellent job of combining the benefits of a reaction rod (i.e. torque only on the barrel extension from muzzle device installation) for upper receivers on one end with a magwell insert for lower receivers on the opposite end. And it works with both forged and billet AR15 receivers. It is definitely an item that belongs on your bench at a very fair price.
